I believe Inter had negotiated a deal with Genoa for Quaresma's co-ownership last summer. I believe Mourinho didn't blocked this deal anyhow. It was Quaresma who rejected the move. He has only himself to blame that a) he rejected the move to ensure playing time for himself and b) he hasn't convinced Mourinho in the trainings.

I don't think it's as simple as this. Mourinho clearly uses 2 formations - the 4-4-2 diamond and the 4-3-3. So far its clear that 4-4-2 works better with the players we have. If Mourinho does want to play Quaresma, he has to abandon the 4-4-2. Plus there's also the problem of him playing in the San Siro.

Nope, though i never claimed he was responsible.

Quaresma with his useless trivela and inability to do anything close to what a professional footballer can do on the field is solely responsible.

Would be nice if we can keep some perspective.

I really think Quaresma hasnt been able to make an above average pass or create a amazing chance with his fancy flicks or even the simple ones. He has been a complete failure. I dont really think a lot of people will disagree to that.

Well this certainly isn't true.

He has been a complete failure. I dont really think a lot of people will disagree to that.

We know he has been a failure, that's not what is being debated though.

He wanted to play a 4-3-3 with wingers behind the main striker but he soon realized this Inter team was built differently and luckily enough shifted back to the 4-3-1-2 formation. I dont know if we should consider Quaresma a flop for that, but he surely will never find his feet in here. Where should he play? Instead of Muntari would be simply insane. Muntari/Motta play in that position because they can actually cover the midfield and press high. Quaresma cant do that. Sure Muntari/Motta do not have his speed or his dribbling, but that is not needed in that position.
Apart from that, I believe Quaresma has a little personality issue. He's been great for Porto, but we know he never did good at Barca, Inter & Chelsea. Even for his NT, he never was anything above decent. He surely needs to play for another team who actually utilizes wingers.

Yea but he doesnt want anything less than 3 million euro !!!

He wont leave till his contract is up because he is a mercenary. No player with the world cup 7 months away should be ok with eating bench or sitting on the stands.

No team will pick this guy up, and even if he starts doing better for us, we over spent on him and are paying him way way to much

Yeh sadly this is true, Mou is just too negative to start with something like this, even against the smaller teams in Serie A.

He always starts defensive and then as soon as he is behind he throws on all our attacking players.

Mourinho was never an attacking coach but he wasnt a defensive either.I would call his style "efficient winning football".

He can try various tactics if he trust a player.When he has a player like quaresma who dont have brains,there not much he can do.
At chelsea in lots of games especially when shevchenko came he played with flat 4 midfield with 1 winger in midfield.I think its just that mourinho doesnt trust quaresma ,thats all.How negative a 4-3-3 with 3 strikers can be?I just wonder...

Quaresma was given chances last season. Offcourse Mou cant keep playing him to please his 25 fans... Quaresma has regularly dissapointed in an Inter shirt, I'm all for giving him a chance, but the problem is there are a lot like me at the GM who arent his fans.

I agree. He could be very useful in games since our attacking options when players are in injured are limited and the thing is one great match is all that will take to give him the confidence for the next matches.

Who knows man,maybe at the trainings he doesnt do what mourinho wants him to do.If he doesnt like what he sees then its not surprising that he isnt playing in the games.We are outsiders so its not easy to judge.He definately should be used more,but maybe he has given up on him.

Yeah, he's been called so few times. He has been on the pitch in 3 different matches and on the bench 2 times. That's ridiculously little. Mancini has featured in 3 matches also but has been on the bench 6 times.

The day Quaresma plays with freedom and confidence for Inter will never arrive. For 20 million pounds + his wages, he is a tremendous waste of resources. The sooner he leaves the better. I feel sorry for his fan boys on these forums who keep hoping for a miracle and will have nothing to write about once he leaves.

I don't understand Quaresma. Or Mancini for that matter.

I can recognise the formations and tactics haven't suited either, and they have flopped in their own rights, but something is still not right and I just can't pick it.

I can't believe this but at the moment if I had to choose between an Inter 4-3-3 of Mancini-X-Quaresma, or with Figo, Solari or fucking Aparecido Cesar on the wings, I think I'd have to choose 2 of the latter 3 as wingers.
