Thought he played well if we are gonna criticize him when he's poor we need to praise him when he plays well.

The criticizing comes after season of bad games and the praise comes after 2 games.

Did he play that well? I think the tactics were adjusted so his flaws aren't exposed much. Maybe not screwing up big is the standard set for him now.

His strength in winning the ball is important for us and why I generally prefer him to Vecino. It's not something that's as noticeable but if you look at our opening goal against Sassuolo he wins the ball with a slide tackle that allows Brozo to make the pass to Lautaro. Similarly he wins the ball yesterday to launch the counter for Candreva's goal. These aren't hugely noticeable things not are important. Vecino is better at driving the ball forward and can have some benefits but given that we have guys like Barella and Sensi in the team now I think Gagliardini's characteristics are more important. Despite Vecino having a physical presence I dont ever notice him winning many challenges or even headers in midfield. I feel we notice Gagliardini's presence more defensively. We can have Sensi and Barella take care of driving forward with the ball so Gagliardini is more important than Vecino imo.

We badly need another midfielder though. I dont think Vecino can start many games. Against big teams we have the 3 starters and Vecino offers nothing in tight games against smaller teams. Borja is just there so I dont count him. It would be nice to see the new kid (Agoume?) get some minutes.

Fabio Capello:" When Lautaro wasted the PK Cambiasso kicked the chair with his foot. I think if Cambiasso played instead of Gagliardini he'll do a much better job".

I remember having long ass debates with AzzKikr back in the day about the quality of Cambiasso, the Dan always said that Cambiasso can't pass, I've always replied that he'll know Cambiasso's value once he leaves/retires. And since he's left, we've been in deep shit for almost a fucken decade. I'm wondering where's that azzkikr fucker now? I actually miss the prick.

This nightmare will be over once we replace this midfield Ranocchia along with Vecino, Valero, Asamoah with real footballers that could have real weight on the field and could actually contribute with something positive to the team instead of just being a useless cunt that counts for nothing and does only one or two max positive things the whole 90 minutes, I swear my grandma could be a more useful midfielder than these cunts.

Eh, I’ve been shitting on him for about a year now but fair enough, he wasn’t terrible against either BVB or Parma. The issue remains that ‘not terrible’ is no longer good enough.

I still rate Gagliardini higher than Vecino. Defensively Gags contributes more. And he has more off-the-ball movement, including those dashes to the penalty area. We are effectively playing with 3 strikers in a counter-attack situation. Seen that many times in the Parma game.

I don't rate Gags higher than Vecino, but true he has been okay in this past two games.

his presence in attack/defense or even in transitions should be one of the highlights in our last 2 or 3 games.
there were some fuckups but still a reliable bench player.

Another decent performance yesterday. Not spectacular, but still decent. Does what's asked of him, runs his ass off, and rarely makes mistakes (when he does tho it's really fucked up).

As I said before, he is good 5th or 6th choice. He cannot stay first midfielder choice tho, we need one more MF in january.

Thought today was his best match in his recent run as a starter. I would still like him to do better on the ball but whatever.

The biggest downside I see of Gagliardini is his serious lack of speed.

Yes, he has decent composure and awareness while we attack, but I much often see him unable to catch up with his man during the opponent’s counter attack. He isn’t our last line of defense so this downside may not be so visual, but slow-footedness is a huge minus for any CM in delaying the counter, and keeping the defensive line balanced.

Given our depth of squad, I still consider him a much needed CM for now. But his contribution in the midfield will be quite limited when we play against a pacey team that challenges our line of formation.

Idiot! Why cannot you run towards the bench and make a substitution. Stupid yellow. You cannot cross the field when you are substituted. Isn't that the basic shit.

The worst and the stupidest performance by an Inter player in a long time. The moment he crossed the field topped everything.

The real issue is that Vecino is even worse....

I wish we had more international breaks so as to have as few matches possible before the next transfer market.

Ah, there's the Gagliardini I know. To be fair though, everyone looked subpar today.
