Moratti's already brought up the Scudetto, what, 3 or 4 times already and it's still September?? Honestly, this man has no clue. I don't think he realizes any of the mistakes he has made over the 20 years he was president.

I disagree with the idea Scudetto talk will derail our season on its own, granted, it happened in 2012 but I think that came down to Stramaccioni's inability to handle the pressure with Moratti piling it on his back, and while it may have been a reason in finishing ninth it wasn't the reason we didn't finish top 3. Still, it's an unreasonable expectation and it's misguided positivity.

Guarins just started talking about it.

The point is that we set a clear objective going in to the season, trying to change that now will demoralise our players massively if luck goes against them. On the other hand, if you know you only need say 70 points to make the CL, losing a few games doesnt make you feel as bad about yourself as needing 85 points+.

I don't think Mancini will talk about the Scudetto because it'll put more pressure on himself for no reason. Everyone at Inter recognizes the only thing Thohir is looking for is CL, but I think a few players are thinking that we should try to win the title if it is possible.

if we fall to the same position we were in last season where making CL looks impossible, the team will be demoralized no matter what. If our players accept failure and fail to adapt their goals if things don't turn out well, they don't have the mentality to be at a club with high aspirations. disappointment ≠ disinterest. I don't think any of our players would accept CL falling out of reach until the very last moment. So mentioning the Scudetto right now won't make a significant difference if we totally fuck up.

if we finish outside of the top 3, if things start to click next season it won't matter. It comes down to the coach and whether or not we're actually good enough to fulfill our objective. Rudi Garcia inherited a demoralized Roma after losing the coppa final to lazio that finished outside of the EL qualifying spots, he won his first 10 consecutive games and placed 2nd. Antonio Conte took a Juve in seventh place and won the Scudetto.

At the end of the season, if we target the Scudetto but finish in the top 3 it's be a massive success.

you can quite clearly see the impact of demoralisation in a club doing badly. people fall out, dressing room tensions escalate, small mistakes on the pitch become big talking points.

Not a single footballer is okay thinking 'well maybe next year'.....

The point isnt the clubs aims, but rather, the player's psychology. Thats why I was pissed off with Moratti starting it - it gets into the player's heads, and as soon as that happens, they start to believe it. As soon as that happens, they're under 100x more pressure. Within themselves, within the dressing room, even if you remove the media and fan scrutiny.

Guarin is an idiot.

Thankfully Mancini has been quite (uncharacteristically) sensible so far, downplaying our position on the points table and maintaining that Roma, Juve and Napoli have something more than us in their squads. Hopefully that will act as a counter-balance to all this scudetto talk by fools like Moratti and Guarin.

Hmmm.... "uncharacteristically" might be the biggest word I have ever written on FIF. :notbad:

Before the derby Mancini guessed the result which was to be revealed after the game by GDS. Any body knows what was his prediction?

1) Mentioned this right after the first goal, take Handa off. When a player makes a colossal "mistake" (can't even call that a mistake it was just retardedness), more likely than not, they're going to play like shit for the rest of the game, and he fucked up on the second as well.

2) We need Murillo.

Going to back three would be okay if we played a back three well...ever. We should have just stuck with the 4-3-1-2 from the start. We decided to go 4-3-3 once Palacio was used in place of Jovetic with Perisic as a RW.

But honestly it's hard to say he got it wrong from the start when we first of all lost probably our best player in the warm up, and Handonovic fucked us in the 2nd minute. The second goal was flukey, but the 3rd came because of us going to a back three and that's on Mancini. The Miranda red card also can't really be blamed on him, that's an experienced player making an absolute bonehead move. All in all NOTHING went right for us today. I hope the players can put this behind them.

Right before the third goal he switched to 3-4-2, playing Santon as LCB and Perisic as RWB. Right after the goal we switched back to a 4-man defense. Then in the 2nd half, he played Santon as LCB alongside Rano. Not to mention playing Palacio instead of Ljajic.

:eek:blivious:

His mistake was playing a high defensive line against a side like Fiorentina. We should've sat deep and hit them on counters with Perisic. Or at least try to play possession football and dictate the tempo of the match.

Well for what it's worth, il tactico genio confirmed that we started the match with a 352, which is as fucking mind-boggling as it is utterly fucking unforgivable.
