Inter always was famous for following biggest stars all around the world but in the last 10+ years Inter never had a perfect squad like this. We might had some stars in our team in past but other players were really average.topdog said:He should get at least one more year to rebiuld the side and challenge. We need to get rid off our old, useless players like Materazzi and Figo and sign young, skilfull, strong, energetic players. Mancini is our most succesful coach in 10+ years, which isn't saying a lot as we've not won much recently but i reckon if he gest the right players and if we get some luck at last we can challenge next year. 5 years ago we would be challenging for the title with our points tally. It's not our fault that Juve have been exceptional.

Certainly worrying, though not surprising...
Ask it from The Coach why he did play him after 2 weeks on sidelines! Seems this debacle removed the fact that he was our best midfielder this season and the best player alongside Javier Zanetti the whole season!topdog said:We don't have a perfect squad. You call Materazzi and Cordoba ideal? A over the hill Figo ideal? Signing famous players when they are old is not ideal. If we wanted Figo we should have gone for him in 2000 when he was at his peak. Agianst Vilarreal he could barely stay on his feet or pass the ball. Arense Wenger 's Arsenal team is they way we should think about going.
Jake said:Well I think the magazine Calcio 2000 is quite reliable. They listed our players salaries too.

Thanks for that Jake, this is a travesty indeed :frustrat:
coz Juve got Moggi to c to the contracts, and we got Branca.Durai said:how the hell can that prick earn more than capello.

Good post – I fully agree with you. However I cant and don’t want to see him being our coach if he fails to bring in either of the big 2 trophies next season. I believe three full season when you are given all the players you wish (inc. your friends to keep you happy and warm at night) should be enough to prove a point. If next season he fails again, then he should be shown the exit door. For noe, I agree that there is no point in doing something drastically again. Although he was to blame for our QF exit, yet I believe with the right mentality and grit those players on the pitch should have swept a side like Villareal. No disrespect to them, but you just cant lose against a team currently 8th in LaLiga.Code said:Sacking Mancini would be nothing but a token gesture of anger. I agree to a point with Moratti that the players let the coach down. Yes, I agree Solari should have replaced Figo, and Yes, Pizarro should have replaced Veron, and Yes, bringing on mihjilovic was a bad call (though i could see the logic to a point). I would say 60% players fault, 40% Mancini's.
Thing is, all coaches have favourites, it's just something you have to accept, and if we sack Mancini, he won't get the chance to learn some very valuable lessons, or he'll learn and use it to benefit another club, same as what's happened over and over again in our history. how about we change things by changing things by not changing things!. what I mean is, lets change our fortunes by changing the way we do things, IE keeping some stability and not booting the Manager out every time he makes a mistake (not changing things) Christ that sounded like Donald Rumsfeldt!! . I knew what I meant though!
Let Manicini learn from his mistakes, gain a bit of brutality towards dropping players if they let him down (it's his job on the line after all) and see how we get on next season.
Changing managers would just continue the depressing neverending cycle of anticipation and depression, Maybe Mancini isn't the one to give us glory, but he at least deserves the chance to make amends, we're only harming ourselves by sacking him and doing the same next season, and the season after ad infinitum...
