I did immediately. Radja is a great footballer and everything but it was so obvious he didn't want to play for us from the day 1. But I will be honest, I only regretted that we didn't go for Rafinha, not because we gave them Zaniolo

It's a biased point of view, but when Icardi scored and changed the inertia of the game, the three points were there to be taken, whatever one may think about the substitutions before (Keita off instead of Perisic) and after that goal, when an immediate change to add steel (Gagliardini) or lungs (Vecino) would have been a logical option to seize the momentum: yes, the equalizer came off an episode and looked like it had nothing to do with tactics, but that's how football can be written and discussed - in hindsight, to sound like captain obvious.

And the three points were there to be taken in the last 10 minutes, when the game dramatically opened up.
I wonder how Totti would have reacted if we had scored from one of those back-and-forths, considering his post-game rant against VAR after a fair draw.
I also wonder how "Er Pupone" would react to an indisputable Dimarco's handball (clear "red card+penalty kick", but no VAR intervention) and then Di Marco's wondergoal resulting in Roma-Parma 0-1.

We didn't purchase Asamoah.

Zaniolo and Vecino play in very different roles. In Vecino we have a player in development in Cremonese.

IMO that Icardi push was not a penalty, and the Zaniolo trip was a penalty, so Roma do have something to cry about. On balance of play however Rocchi as usual gave a lot of small decisions against Inter (like that Politano foul right outside the penalty area), maybe he was over compensating for the penalty error or maybe he was being a dickhead as usual.

We drew the game because we did not attack enough - Roma's defence was there for the taking, but we couldn't take advantage because we did not pass well enough.

Good: Asamoah, D'Ambrosio, Keita & Handanovic had a good game.

Okay: Icardi, Politano, Skriniar & De Vrij had a decent game, no complaints.

Poor: Mario, Valero, Brozovic and Perisic were garbage. IMO Bro & Valero really suffered because they did not have a hardworking midfielder next 2 them. Like I was saying before the game, this theoretical midfield of lightweight passers just does not work, not at Inter. Ideally you need a DM, or at least a hardworking/physical midfielder.

Fucker of the match: Mario was woeful, and his passing killed most of our attacks as it was slow, late and usually behind the player making a run.

That said, if you look at the 2 goals we conceded - one was a poor error by Brozovic (that slight movement of arm) and the other was a absolutely great goal by Under - the only way to defend against that is to have a DM focussed on closing down that space.

I agree up until this part, though I would put Politano in the Poor category as well. When the coach puts you on at 2-2 looking for a goal, and you're fucking repetitively failing to even beat the near post marker with every corner and cross you take, then you've failed. It seems harsh to criticise Politano after this result and I am absolutely not blaming him for the draw, not even slightly. But but a game like today was a perfect demonstration of his shortcomings.

I thought the midfield 3 all had acceptable games overall but were each let down by incidents. Brozovic, obviously the handball. Mario was simply too carefree in his approach to the game. He looked genuinely professional in those matches against Lazio and Genoa, but since that very brief spike in form, he's recently been far too careless when he plays. Either way, Perisic was the fucker of the match, by a long margin.

Mario organized the first goal by brilliantly serving the ball to DDA , had won ball by tackling after which brozovic took a shoot and won the corner which resulted in Icardi's header. His touches, passing and overall technical abilities are one level above than Vecino. Thought he was decent

Idk why people are mad at mario, he played good. This trio midfield is good against lower level teams that defend tho. We had good triangulations and ball movement.

It’s funny how I ended up really happy on how played because there was some creativety and triangulations. We had good games this season but this game was one of the best ones passing wise.
