Regardless of whether Handa extends or not, I feel like we should be preparing ourselves for a new no. 1. At 31 he's by no means old as a goalkeeper but I have this feeling that he's not 100% committed to us anymore. I won't begrudge him or anything, he's been a fine servant over the 3 years he's been playing for us and I wish he would stay for a couple more years.

Goalkeepers usually hitting their prime between 31 and 34 so there is absolutely ridiculous to think about replacing Handa in next at least two years.

I would love to have full backs and midfielders on his level.

True, I'm not questioning that. I just think his mind is elsewhere. I also think that we need a better back up than Carrizo, if Handa stays for a few years then we can bring a young-ish keeper who'll fill his spot whenever Handa leaves. But if my feelings are correct (and they are based purely on bullshit) then we might need a better, more difficult replacement to find. Remember that him extending his contract does not necessarily mean he'll be here in the future, we could still sell him for a decent amount because of it next summer (the extension).

Carrizo is very very underrated here. He saved our ass against Cagliari. Also in every match he wasnt bad.

When he's bad he's incredibly terrible though. I think he's sufficient as a back up keeper. As far as I've seen there aren't to many complain about him. I wouldn't say he's underrated.

I can understand why people were worried, I must admit I was getting a bit nervous about this one.... Inter left this one till the very last minute, literally. He could have signed a pre-contract with any club now.

I am just glad this one is out of the way... Well done to the management, this is awesome news!

Really, if Inter succeeds in any way this guy should be considered the most deserving imo He's been pretty much the closest player to the world class level we had since the treble (not counting the members of the treble generation who stayed).
