I was a fan and wanted him to stay, but I never expected this kind of improvement this season. How we are dealing with our rivals have been outstanding. Even the first Juve game we were clearly better, in Turin!!!

Something clicked mentally after we reached the CL final. Also our summer transfers were amazing except for Sanchez/Arnautović not being my preferred choices for back up, but okay, whatever.

It clicked when he was close to losing his job, we were out of cl places and in those weeks when we had that stretch of ultra difficult games and only lost points against napoli after gaglia got the red card. As far as i m concerned, that's the point where we started to look like a proper team. Not only did our mentality changed during that time but also tactical approach which a lot of people forget imo and shift all the rise in form to our cl campaign.

Reaching cl final did help us this season, but the major change happened months before the final in the period I mentioned.

Inzaghi can really open up a scudetti winning cycle here if he's supported well throughout. Milan, Juve, Napoli will all have new projects, maybe Allegri stays who knows. Pioli will be gone. This would be a favorable head start for Simone. Beppe will gift him a WC CB next year. Acerbi will definitely leave in 2025, but DeVrij might get a yearly contract for backup role. He's only 32 atm.

Things have improved when the club supported him and gave him the right players. Minus our backup forwards we are well covered in all positions, which wasn't the case last season. Just Pavard and Thuram made a big impact on our results and performances. Sommer as well. And this season's Lautaro is his best and consistent version so far.

I agree, tbh. He's really taken us to another level this year, and we've got a reasonably young core to the squad - i know there are a lot of oldies who will need replacing, but really the core of this team is a good age.

De Vrij is not good for a starter in my view. I definitely can see us going after Lidenlof, when he is a free agent.
The problem is that maybe we'll need to sell one between Lautaro or Thuram.

Jonathan Tah's had a reasonably good season as a CCB with Leverkusen this season and also chipped in a few goals. If he were available on a free in 2025, that's not the worst decision I think we could make. Fits both a legitimate area of need and general familiarity with a 3CB system.

The thing about Inzaghi's system that I really appreciate is that, on paper, you're meant to think 3 centerbacks suggests a more defensive system compared to usual CB and FB systems where both fullbacks tend to push high and, if anything, it's often the holding mid who drops deep centrally to broadly cover the gaps. But in this system, either Pavard or Bastoni are perfectly capable of pushing up on the play from deep, and sometimes we even see both of them pushing high. Sometimes it's the weakside CB who pushes high, sometimes strongside, again sometimes both. Either Mkhi or Hakan drop deeper to complete the switch, the benefit being both guys can do it so it's less predictable.

Interchangeability and fluidity are the kinds of things that simply can't be overstated...they make a team so difficult to play against when you don't know who's going to be where on a given play. And we have a really fluid attack. Mix some of that with Bastoni and Hakan's ability to play great switches of play...literally the only thing we need to improve upon is our depth. If we were in any position to actually back up Inzaghi and let him build on his system, we're cooking for the next five years.

Now, I hope that Inzaghi will manage the rotation well in our next mini cycle, starting from the Lecce game. Bisseck and Frattesi are must. Maybe it would be good to start Asllani as well, but that could be too risky considering that Arnautivic will be a starter.
