Griezmann was winger before moving to atletico, now he is a SS. They will rotate for sure. Diego Costa was playing as left winger when Falcao was in Atletico. Raul Garcia who is quite slow, has played there too. Many forwards/midfielders that are central minded play as wingers under Cholo. He will also rotate with Griemzann and drift inside. As this formation is more of 4-3-3- rather than traditional 4-4-2.

Marca and few other spanish medias claim Vietto is bought to play as AM in 4-3-1-2. They claimed this will be the formation:

Oblak
Juanfran-Gimenez-Godin-Siquiera
Carrasco - Gabi - Koke
Vietto
Martinez - Griezmann

I really doubt Cholo will play so narrow, but we will see I guess.

also, diego costa and raul are not vietto. just because they're all strikers doesn't mean they share the same characteristics. its like playing javier saviola as a wingback. makes literally no sense for vietto to be there. at least thats what i feel.

i think simeone and cerezo are going for a lot of depth. atletico struggled to keep up with 3 competitions last season because they didnt have enough players. coolman's formation seems the most realistic, especially if you swap saul with thiago motta.

I am aware, just posting what i read I am very curious to see how Carrasco, Vietto and Griezmann are all included in the starting 11. Unless Griemzmann is to be sold, and Vietto is actually his replacement.

Yeah, I doubt he'll play 4-3-1-2. I guess what you say is possible, although I'm not sure if Carrasco/Vietto can contribute as much defensively as Arda/Koke. I also think Simeone doesn't like Siqueira that much since last season he played Gamez who's a right-back instead of him.

I'm excited to see them this season.

Have Real Madrid made any buys at all? I know they have a new coach, but they're quiet so far, and I haven't seen them linked with any huge buys which they seem to do almost each year. With the exception of De Gea.

They brought Danilo and Casemiro (back) from Porto, Lucas Vazquez from Espanyol.

If Utd don't let De Gea go this year, it looks like Real might buy Kiko Casilla, then get De Gea for free next year.
