Inter had a certain transfer policy under Mancini that didn't help us improve in CL for four years. Mourinho goes for totally different players, players who to me seem more likely to be "CL players". However, we must not forget that we have a three-year deal with Mourinho and that Moratti has spent a lot this summer already. He fired Mancini and his staff, brought Mourinho, bought Mancini, bought Muntari and will probably buy Quaresma or someone else. This is a massive financial effort. Moratti cheap? No way. These deals combined surely make close to €100m, give or take because we don't know their exact values.
Keep also in mind, that a winning team is rarely built in one summer. For Inter to be competitive in CL, there has to be some changes. All of these changes can't happen in one summer. It seems Mourinho relies on creativity to come from the wings and Ibra/Mario this season. He tried for Lampard, who would improve our midfield, but it seems Frank didn't want to after all. What I think is that Jose might try to put Dejan back together. Muntari was probably not only a long-term solution, he was also a bid to fulfil the UEFA regulations. Muntari, from what I hear, is a bit like Vieira, who is on the down. If he can perform, he might even be better than Vieria has been.
Azzkikr will probably lose his head over this, but with Mourinho as the boss, my belief in the management and its actions has increased, because Mourinho dictates what happens. This may help the management doing better deals. The management can improve, but I think Mancini's attitude gave them a bit too much responsibility, not to mention that Mancini did give them some strange wishlists, because Mancini "wished for players" but "didn't know who was coming, ask the management".
As an Inter fan, I hope Muntari make it big here. I really don't care about anything else because now he's here, and there is nothing we can do. I'll support him because I want him to help Inter be successful.
