honestly, who cares at this point? the ballon d'or, toty have lost a lot of their credibility over the past few years. some of the names in that list are nothing short of ridiculous (as well as names not mentioned).

How can Raphael Varane who's not even a starter for Madrid be nominated? He's a great player but he's regularly 3rd choice behind Pepe and Ramos.

Kompany was really shit for City last season, don't know how he is doing this.

These award are more media reputation than anything, you play at a mainstream club you are bound to make the list. Also agents influence to get their client in there, they can use it to get better sponsorship contracts.

I think they should do a formula to get a more deversified field. Maybe weigh it 50% peer vote, 30% media, 20 % fan vote.

This award loses all its credibility when Casillas is nominated no matter what and David Luiz continues to be overrated forever.

Awards are for Calendar year 2015 if I'm not wrong. Few of the nominees are beyond joke.

Ivanovic is arguably the worst RB this season in PL.
Luiz
Pepe, Sergio Ramos and Varane are all listed. That's a fucking joke. Varane wasn't even first choice player and all the madrid defenders are nominated
Thiago Alcantra was barely fit but somehow he is in.
Alonso :palm:
Rooney  Not a single ManUtd will agree with that.
Douglas Costa Good 2 seasons with Bayern and he is nominated.

I'm wondering why Falcao missed out :p

How the fuck do they nominate these players? By fans or journalists or what?

Xabi Alonso has actually done great in Bayern München so I do understand that choice. However there are too many names on that list that shouldn't have been there.
