Motta is way better than Pirlo. Motta is the best passing CM in Italy.

Motta might be better than Pirlo as a CM, but he's definitely not better in the role of a deep lying playmaker (Pirlo's main role), because he doesn't have the range of passing that Pirlo has.

Congrats to Motta for his first cap with the Azzurri. Still not a fan of the whole "I wanna play for a different country cos I'm not good enough for Brazil/Argentina" but lots of players seem to be doing it so whatever I suppose. My mom is German immigrant and had an Italian father but I'd never consider either one before my homeland if I was a footballer. But I guess everyone is different
