I think he would be a great DM building play from the back if we played with more quality CMs like Alvarez or Poli, and Sneijder or Cou as AM, but if the CMs are going to be Cambiasso and Stankovic, then it's just stupid to play Motta as DM, since everytime Motta plays the ball forward both Cambiasso and Stankovic play backward, it's like they're afraid or something.

I'd liked to have seen Motta try more incisive forward passing before the goal. Up until the 80th minute or so, he just kept passing the ball around neatly without really trying anything. Sure, it kept play "flowing", but I'd personally hoped Motta would take on more responsibility like Sneijder does. Considering the lack of midfield talent around him, I would have liked to have seen him take a more aggressive hold of the game and simply try more.

It's very hard to play incisive passes when you're playing as a DM, he did it at the end of the game because Ranieri allowed him to go forward when Milito entered the match.

Yeah. And yesterday it was Motta who played softly in the midfield after Chivu's misspass which lead to Udinese's goal. Motta does not play enough like the last line of defence in the midfield. That's why he shouldn't be in that role.

As long it's reasonable, I don't mind. He's still valuable player of this team. It's true that he's pretty inconsistent with injuries but on another note when he's fine, he can produce quite well performances.

He has a whole year and a half left of this. We should be smarter now to wait near last minute until signing these players new contracts. I think Motta is very underrated by about half of Inter supporters, but we shouldn't give a new contract just yet. At least not until summer and in any case, wage lowered. Another thing we should have hopefully learned from by now - no matter how good a old player is, giving him a new contract (like it happened with Milito) basically means that we are certain that he is going to keep same level/improve over next seasons because getting rid of a poor player on huge contract is a pain in the arse.

Yeah. And the extension shouldn't be too long (something the player will demand anyway). I think there is a very good chance Motta's injury-rate only keeps getting higher when he ages. That's why he can't be relied upon. Like he can't be relied upon even now. We can never know when the next injury comes. Same goes with Stankovic (though he's older and more clear bench/mentor role player).

He has been very good in the last few games. Todays game I cant remenber any misspasses from him. He aint fast on his feet but very fast for reading the game. Injury free Motta would be a jewel. I have really liked how Motta and Cambiasso have played in central midfield.

It is said that we should not judge winners. But for me it was the worst Thiagone's performance I've ever seen. I think when it becomes to play against the weakest opponents, he's losing his concentration too often. And it happened today. His turnovers gave Lecce a goal + few more scoring opportunities. Luckily they didn't take advantage of it in second half.

i said it before ill say it again motta is a worthless player, poli should play before him and kucka as well when he comes this winter, hopefully the russians still want motta and we can offload him this winter, id still like to see crisetig get a few starts as well

Motta is one of my favourites on this team, he's won me over almost instantly and solidified his place my Grande Inter with his performance against Barcelona but he was awful today. his worst performance for us, hopefully ith the break he can rest and come back bossing again. His vision is probably the best in our team barring Sneijder.


But knowing Motta he'll probably report back injured and be out for all of January
