Sky doesn't decide Lega Calcio decides the times. I am pretty sure there should be a site online for the train times. Unfortunately I can't remember the train operating companies name from when I was in milano.

Thanks, but I know the train times, I checked trenitalia and if it was an evening game I'd have circa 1h40m to get to centrale after the game for the final train of the night. Is that enough time from the san siro to centrale?

Also, when do Lega Calcio decide the times? If you look at the Inter website it's obvious times will change so when will it be finalised for a game on 12/13 Sept?

Thanks Stefan but is 1h40m enough to get from the stadium to the centrale station?

Depends on whether the public transport (trams, ect) are running at the time. When I was in milano my hotel was close to centrale and it was very easy when the transport was running but after the milan-celtic cl game it took ages because at that time of night nothing was running. After the inter vs milan derby game it was easy because the trams were working.

Thanks, the metro has always got me to the centrale station before in that time but I've only been going to the train during the day for the airport. This time I'm staying out by Garda on a family holiday and hoping to catch a game. I think I stayed in the same hotel as you before, Hotel Lido near Lotto?

That shouldn't be a problem. And Inter-Parma will never be sold out either. Enjoy the match :)

Thanks, I didn't think it would be sold out I just don't want to spend the night on the street after I fail to make the final train ;).

I went to Inter-Lazio in May. The match started at 20:30 and was over about two hours later. I then had 2 hours to get to the last bus from Stazione Centrale. And I was messing around BIG TIME. I couldn't decide what to do to get downtown. Cab? Metro? Tram? Taxi? I think I wasted about 20 minutes outside the stadium deciding what to do. Finally, I got on a tram downtown and went for the metro to get to the station. Then it turns out I went to the wrong station (Cadorna)! So I had to run down to the metro again and go to Centrale, all the while I hadn't eaten for about 6 hours and was dying to get some food. At midnight, 1,5 hours after the end of the game, I arrived at the correct bus stop. Luckily, I had 30 mins to go to McDonalds and order to go. I made the bus to Malpensa and ended up at the wrong terminal :D eventually, I got to the right one and had two hours of sleep on the airport floor before my plane went to Amsterdam and then to Oslo, which I had left 30 hours earlier...

So, lesson is... decide what you're going to do after the match and stick to it! And obviously know where you're heading and where what you are taking is heading. I messed around like a madman, I couldn't have done it again even if I tried to, and still made it with 30 mins to spare. ;)

Well I guess my story is nothing compared to yours. Somehow I managed to lost my way back to the Centrale station even though it should be just a straight walk from the stadium.

Congrats Sandro

No need to stay near Duomo, because obviously hotels nearer to the center are more expensive. Stay farther away in any decent hotel as long as it's right next to a metro station. Who cares if it takes 10 minutes to get to Duomo by metro :)

Tip: go to hotel Antares Hotel Rubens. good hotel!

no close to duomo but close to De Angeli Metro station and in 5 minutes you go to duomo.

also, the hotel is only 20-30 minutes in walking from the meazze and have good service.

Sorry on the bad english. I try to help for you :)

Haha, yes it was amazing all in all. Now, looking back I can't believe how close I was to screwing up everything. But then again, the first bus in the morning was leaving for the airport at 4.30 or something, so I would've made it either way. But would've had to sleep on the street though.

But looking back it was a very funny experience to have gone through.

So 1h40min is plenty once I plan ahead, thanks! Sounds like you had an interesting trip. I actually did that going TO the match one time, got off at the wrong stop that is but still had plenty of time.

When you're in Milano on matchday, you do nothing but wait for the match anyway :D

Ehsan is right.

What I'm doing is: Make a fake reservation with another airline and another hotel. Once I get the Schengen VISA, I'm gonna cancel the reservations. I'm going with Frankfurt, Germany. I can't do France because they go by an appointment system and it's full up to 2 weeks. Germany's queue aren't so long from my research and tbh, shoulda check on Spain but kinda too late now...

Gonna have to be there on German's embassy by 6am still. :| But at least they say we should be guaranteed at least an entry to the interview and stuff by noon.

Be careful with the Schengen.. they're being pretty strict checking these at the minute - my other half tried to go through Italy, Greece etc with one a few weeks ago and had problems in the airports

And re: the Italian embassy and queues... Queues don't exist in Italy - the one who pushes hardest gets there fastest.. They have the same system at the embassies in Milano, wait outside close to Duomo until they shout your name.. Can you not apply by post/phone over there??
