Too much praise given to Bale. Yea, he's good; but we stopped Messi and Robben, we should have been able to do something about him.

True...bale is talented but people here fail to realize that Bale owned us coz of poor tactical decisions from Rafa...Why the fuck was their LB-Assou, playing so high up the field??!?! basically Maicon had to deal with both Bale & Assou & this 90% of he times in our own half of the field?!?!? Couldnt we have used Milito as CF & put Eto'o to the right to help limit Assou pusshing on & giving Bale all that space?!?!?

I mean common! I watch Spurs every week-end (I have always been a fan of their aggresive play) & Bale doesnt own average RB/defenders in the EPL like he has managed to own the supposed best RB in the world in 2 consecutive games!!

Man I am humiliated, pissed, angry! I sat on campus & actually screamed with so much anger every one was wondering if they should cal security!

Just got to start by saying; I'm not here to gloat or insult anyone.

Just wanted to say how I thought the absence of Cambiasso was a massive part in Spurs doing so well across the two legs. That and some shambolic tactics and motivating by Benitez (overrated manager who ran Liverpool into the ground).

When Spurs got drawn in to that group and I knew we'd be playing Inter I honestly thought that'd be 6 points lost, but across both legs your midfield was very average. Sneijder is a quality player but he was clearly so frustrated today because of the lack of options given to him.

In the first game, we were clearly very over-awed by the situation and gave you far too much respect, letting you completely run riot. Frankly we were lucky you took your foot off the gas and let us back into that game or it would have been embarassing. In the end I thought the 4-3 loss taught us a lot more than a hundred 1-0 losses would have.

I don't know if it's an Italian way of playing or Benitez's influence (I don't get to see as much Serie A as i'd like), but you seem to be going the same way as Liverpool did, 2 completely limited holding midfielders and 1 man given the whole creative responsability.

White Hart Lane wasn't a particularly happy hunting ground for Benitez at Liverpool and he was tactically out-classed again with Inter.

Inter with Cambiasso (who I have always considered one of the best pure central midfielders around) would have been a completely different story I think, he would never have been as wasteful and conceded possession as easily as Muntari, Nwankwo and even Zanetti and Sneijder were at times.

Oh, that and Biabiany really needs to learn to track back and help the full back when he's being given the worst spanking i've ever seen, even I was cringing towards the end.

Good luck with your season (unless we meet again)

Maybe now that we have been humiliated by Tottenham, and our uninspired offence finally costs us, the fans here that keep insisting on 'being happy with the three points' finally wake up and realise that these kinds of losses is where we're heading if we don't rectify the problem soon, and if the players don't step up their games.

Our defence was horrible, Maicon was exceptionally crap for someone who was hailed the best right back in the world last season. Zanetti was not providing enough cover for Maicon. Biabiany didn't come back to help Maicon when it was plain obvious that Tottenham was concentrating their offence through Bale. Sneijder was uninspired. Our offence basically consisted of giving the ball to Sneijder for him to lose it, or go down the wings unsuccessfully and lose it.

I can't understand how Bale can own us for two matches in a row when the likes of Everton can keep Tottenham at bay. Disgraceful performance all around, and I just hope all of us here wake the fuck up to the reality that Inter is going downhill at the moment.

Good analysis. Glad an outsider across the channel understands our play so well. Cambiasso is a player that you will learn his importance when he's NOT on the pitch. I've been a fan of him since he came as a free agent. People keep criticizing him for not being as tough as Makelele or as visionary as Pirlo. What can I say? Inter's like an engine without oil without him.

PS: Rafa should call 999 after the game. 11 male tourists from Milan got raped in London. I see no reason why isn't the Metropolitan police involved.

We had the same problem when we sold Carrick to Man Utd, I don't think any of the Spurs fans realised how much we would miss him until he was gone... rarely did anything sensational but always kept our play ticking over, keeping everything moving.
Luckily now we've properly replaced him with Huddlestone, who's starting to look the better player.

Cambiasso is in a completely different league though, he's one of the most well rounded midfielders i've ever seen... him and Essien would be my ideal central midfield pairing, personally.

benitez have only one mistake:

not starting coutinho from the beginning,at least even he has weaker body, we can still keep our ball possesion and make tempo slow on the pitch

i hate when zaneeti or muntari are in the line ups on central midfield:palm: the game must be boring and no pass to the attackers:palm:

i only have one word: BALE....we should get this guy no matter what the price is

Rafa's biggest mistake was Biabiany. He never tracked back, ever. Rafa should have known though his experience against Spurs that Assou-Ekotto would make overlapping runs the entire game with Bale. That's his game. This left Maicon to deal with Bale and A-E by himself.

Saying that, it takes nothing away from Bale. His play both at the San Siro and at White Hart Lane was truly magnificent. I've never seen anyone do what he did to Maicon over 2 games.

People wanting Benitéz out, grow up. What could anyone do with a midfield of Nwankwo and Zanetti. To the person that said Milito should have started? Very easy to say now but if he was in the first XI you'd still be screaming ''OMFG Benitez you're shit go die you fat prick''
Obviously nobody had a good match, Benny included had a poor game but what the fuck would firing him have any benefit eh? Potential available replacments now?....Fucking Lippi, Donadoni or some shit.

so fuckin right

I finnally see an inter match against spurs.. from what I saw, they were better than us...
Our attack was pretty predictable, spurs can kill our attack easily... the surprise from the middle and right flank is gone...
Our midfield was stronger when muntari was there..
Our defense was shaky against counter attack from a fast team like spurs..

In general, we lost the tactical battle..., it is true that we had injuries and so many players unavailable but last night... we could be more defending and deployed counter attack..

But if we continue the way we play, our defense mechanisme needs a lot of work... If we suffer against team like spurs, imagine playing against bigger team like manU, Barca or Real

Match report from Zonal Marking.

Enjoy!
That article pretty much sums up all I was going to say (about Biabiany and the midfield). The bottom line is the fact we couldn't control the game due to the injuries in midfield and shitty pairing of Muntari and Zanetti cost us the game. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I hope this is a lesson to the management to never rest on your laurels and always try and improve the team. We need signings in January... signings that should have been made before the start of the season.

The only positive to take out of this match was Milito imo. He looked very sharp considering he's been recently injured.

Fucken Biabiany. The little shit can't pass, shoot or cross. Only run!

EDIT: Or defend.
