I would take the money (from Real, if they can really pay). I wouldn't let Vieri to our archrivals.

Guys I'm reading some very VERY worrying rumours on Yahoo Sport. They say Juve wants to put a defender in the Vieri deal, they want Materazzi or Cannavaro. What they offer will be Montero or Iuliano or both. Inter would rather Thuram but they could settle for Iuliano.

Oh my God!! Are we crazyyyy!!!!????!!! I really hope these are stupid rumours, because I can't believe we're giving Materazzi or Cannavaro AND Vieri to Juve (gobbi!!) And we're taking defender who conceded more that 40 goals last season?? Gosh I'm getting seriously worried!

I think Veron is a good move, he didn't cost us anything, I wonder if we have an option to sign it when the loan expires...what if he has a great season and Chelsea wants him back?

Materazzi going to Juve and in return we get Iuliano?? Hell no :fero:
If Materazzi is leaving then I would want the club to get cash so we can buy both Kompany and Carvalho to fill the void of Gamarra and Materazzi.

Iuliano and possibly Montero as well?? F*ck no :frustrat:

I'm also totally against selling Cannavaro to Juve. Vieri, maybe, but not Cannavaro.

Now if the deal for Vieri is Di Vaio+Carini+Maresca then it would be a pretty good deal and the side would be strengthened. Though we wouldn't get cash... though the side would still be strengthened so I'm not so sure if I would like a no cash deal.

Some sites like Channel 4 have said that the side would would want Manuele Blasi in the deal or Thuram. I've heard a lot on Blasi though I wouldn't want Thuram. We have Il Capitano for the wings and we need young talented CBs, not a RWB who says he wants to play in the middle.

Anywayz everything has stalled so...

Does nobody here rate Di Vaio  ,I do and I think that £5m + Di Vaio + Maresca + Carini would be the best we could get!

An Italian international striker,a great prospect for the future and a very good back up 'keeper! :star:

Yea I rate Di Vaio highly...looks like it's just me and you though I love Inter ;) ...I'm still not sure whether it's a great deal though.
Di Vaio and Thuram in return would be a lot better.

At the moment Iuliano is worth nothing. Worth nothing for Juve, and he would be totally useless for us too. At the moment I think he would be our 6th choice, Gamarra and Adani are both better than him not to mention our top trio.

About Thuram, he is old he is full back. I really really don't think he could be better than Materazzi or Cannavaro as a central defender.

Montero is, well, great and tough when he does'nt see red or give up penalties, which is not too often. He is also 33 years old. Enough said.

Frankly, I don't think I would take any of that trio for free. Really. Whatever you think about Thuram, for me he is a definite no no, we have no need to make our defence line any older, with exception of truly good defenders, namely Stam.

And then there is Zambrotta. Absolutely the best left back in Serie A, but, now that we got Favalli, I don't think we will get him. Sad.

This rumour about swapping defenders is really disturbing, even more so than the rumour about Camoranesi.

About Di Vaio, somehow I'm not against Vieri fot Di Vaio+cash. Because 1) Di Vaio can play with Adriano unlike Vieri (don't make debate about this one, I just don't believe in this partnership) 2) Di Vaio will probably accept to sit on the bench, unlike Vieri. So, all in all, Vieri is better only when Adriano is not available, and like we know, Vieri wont accept to that kind of role. And it does'nt make sense to force two great players to play at the same time if it harms the balance of the team.

The quartet: Adriano, Recoba, Martins, Di Vaio (+ Eliakwu) is good in my opinion.

If this swapping of defenders will happen, I think Branca and co. will be the only men on earth to think that is a good deal. Really, the only ones. I have a serious doubt about Moggi, even more so if this will happen: he is a hypnotist.

Ferri: "Veron è il giocatore ideale per l’Inter"

who's this dude ??

Ferri.jpeg

=====================

I agree with him.... on LB ...
We did get Favalli, but can we trust Coco's injuries woes, even after that operation.... isn't it better to get someone like Dede or Cesar to be on safe side.... don't know, what wud be good though

Riccardo Ferri, an Inter legend. He was a defender, I think he played his whole career at Inter.

What left back issues? We play with a 3 man defence with wingbacks or wingers. ;)

If we play 4-4-2:

J. Zanetti - Materazzi - Cordoba - Favalli/Pasquale/Coco/JZ/(Helveg)

Pasquale - he's rumoured to join Lecce.... Rumours, which seems to be true say that we have signed LEDESMA. He will remain in Lecce for a season, then join Inter 2004/05 season.

Helveg - enough said. ;) get the hell out of inter to him..... for god sake.. :D

Coco & Favalli ...

Do you think that Inter would still go for Dede or Cesar ?? ;)

Well hopefully we get Cesar! :)

Without Helveg and Pasqui we have:

Favalli
Coco
J. Zanetti

Then we can bring up a young LB to be 4th choice or even 3rd choice if we need JZ elsewhere on the pitch.

Cesar is not a left back, he`s a left winger. Btw, we we`re already discussing the left back issue in the Favalli thread. ;)

Gazzetta.it and numerous other sites quote Vieri saying that he never said he wants to leave Inter, and he will only if Moratti decides to sell him, otherwise he will honour his contract and stay for another 2 seasons.

MMMM....could that be true?

I'm thinking about something here...is Inter trying to raise the offer from Real Madrid for Bobo? By trying and making the possible deal with Juve bigger and bigger, throwing in defenders and such?

In the end, Vieri, even if behaving strangely (no celebrations for his goals, facing the rage of the tifosi, having a row with Zac about being on the bench) has said many many times that he doesn't want to leave.

The big siren in the Real Madrid chance would be RONALDO! They're very good friends, and Vieri would love to play with him again.

One more thing: Real has got to pay us 8 millions by the end of June for the Ronaldo deal...if we decided to sell Vieri to them, couldn't we solve the left back problem with an old friend....Roberto Carlos!! He said many times that he doesn't want to go anywhere, but then he almost signed for Chelsea, and he wants a 4 years contract, which Real are not keen on....

Good post frisko, but why dont we talk about this Vieri issue in Vieri thread? It would be much easier to read and talk about these rumors that way.

Just a suggestion...:)

vieri might cost around $18 million ....

real still has to pay us $8 million... (7 million by the end of this month)

total becomes = $26 million ;)

$26 - $7 = $ 19 million

when will real pay that :D

2 years later on or after ??

Hello Interfriends,

This is from Gazzetta.it. Vieri has held a press conference to clear things up. Here is the translation:

Florence, June 3, 2004

Christian Vieri has decided to speak. The rumors of his trade to Juve have become too much to stay quit. A very angry Vieri spoke today while training with the Italian National Team.

"Iam here, to clear things up. The media is saying that I have already signed with Juve. This is false, I have never met with them, there is no deal and I still have 2 years of contract with Inter. If its up to me, I want to stay in Milan so Iam sorry to say, it is up to Inter managment to trade me!"

Vieri continues "If I do not fit into there plans and they want to sell me, then I will accept it, but again I would would stay if it was up to me. It has been a month and half since I have spoken to Moratti. In that meeting he said I would be staying with Inter and that was the last we spoke about it. It is not I that should be making phone calls to find out what is giong on, there are people paid to do that."

Vieri also talked about the confirmation of Zac. "I am fine with the selection, I have never created a problem. I will repeat it again, I want to stay and if Iam transfered it is a managment decision, not mine."

Vieri has denied meeting with Juve reps. "I have never been in contact with any of them. Obviously knowing that Iam wanted is flattering and it confirms I have done well with Inter." Vieri also remarks on the arrival of Veron with a big smile "He is a huge Champion"

Vieri finishes off saying "I will do what the managment asks of me. But during these past few days I have felt like a child being strung around and teased. I will repeat for the third time today, If they want to trade me I will go. But I will never ask to leave Inter."

Vieri's comments are pleasing! I'm glad that He is angry.
In my opinion Inter should not transfer Him. He is one of the top strikers in the world. Keeping Vieri in combination with the recent signings and a few more additions Inter should be considered one of the favorites for the scudetto. Without Vieri I cannot say that. If He goes, that leaves a big question mark for me.
