What I predict:

Man City - Inter
United - Salzburg
Liverpool - Benfica
Real Madrid - Sporting Lisbon
Lille - Chelsea
Juventus - Atletico Madrid
Bayern Munchen - Atalanta/Villareal
Ajax - PSG
This is Inter. We're drawing Bayern or Liverpool.

Bayern-City-Liverpool would destroy us. So anyone of the remaining 3.
Are we so sure United or Ajax wouldn’t destroy us just the same? Ajax just blew through their group like a hot knife through butter and United have quality all over the pitch but didn’t have a good manager to put it all together.

Tbh, the only one I'm hopeless against is Bayern. We may be underdogs against those other ones, but there's a non-zero chance we go through. With Bayern we might as well not play.

This is my personal tier list for the next opponent:

1. Direct route to wreckage : Muenchen, Liverpool
They are simply the best team in the continent and we will get ravaged hard without any retaliation. Pray for lady luck of whatever deities you worship to avoid them at all cost.

2. Please don't, but a sliver of chance: Manchester City
Technique-wise they are superior with Muenchen and Liverpool. They will most likely run ring around us, but we have a miniscule of chance if Pep decides to go ballistic with his strategy or if City choke in the knockout stage like in recent years.

3. Unknown quantity: Manchester United
I would put them in the favourable tier if Ole is still on the wheel. It would depend on how fast Rangnick pull his team together until February. If he manages to transform MU, we will have a tough fixture although it is still easier than the previous three.

4. Lady luck won't allow us: Ajax, Lille
To start with, there is no easy team on the UCL knockout stage. Lille are the champion of France beating PSG and Ajax are on the hot streak in UCL groupstage. However, these are weakest team on the pool which means we will not draw them because we are Inter.

I'd rather prefer a top team than the ones you guys believe we have more chances to win against. If we get KO'ed, at least it won't be that painful and we gain the experience that will prepare us better for the next year's CL. Of course, still hoping we reach the 1/4 and it's possible. Like someone already mentioned, there were several teams in the recent past that reached final who weren't considered as favorites.

0% chance- Bayern/City/Liverpool

If Ole still managed United we could possibly beat them but with a competent coach I'd be absolutely stunned.

Ajax are red hot but I could at least see us competing well. Still think we'd lose.

Lille I think we win.

I agree that City may be better than Bayern/Liverpool. They are usual chokers in CL.
Bayern will simply abuse you and score as much as they can. Could be losses of 3-0 and 0-2 or something like that.

...unless we are breaking the Roma 1-7 humiliation when facing Bayern Munich.

I don't want our name on the record table.

Don’t worry guys we’re getting Lille, and they’re gonna destroy us anyway and knock us off 😊
This would be so 2011. After beating Bayern people were worried about the draw and feared we would get Real or Barca. Instead we drew Schalke. Everyone was happy and thought we were already in semi-finals but then we got utterly destroyed.

The difference between top 16 and quarterfinals is 10m. And this doesn't even include sponsorship money and ticker sales. So for me the easier the opponent the better it will be. Sooner or later we will face a tough opponent so there's no reason to wish for one now.

Out of the 16 teams that qualified, on the "goals scored" statistic, we only outperformed 2 teams (Lille, Atl. Madrid). Needless to say, our great goalscoring stat in Serie A is not replicated in UCL.

Inzaghi might have to figure out why that is and sort this out over the winter.

That's nuts, I posted a stat yesterday where we had the most shots in the UCL. Conversion rate is piss

100% positive Ajax would murder us.

Lille and United for sure. Wouldn't be mad at getting City or Liverpool from a selfish standpoint, I could at least go to the game, but it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience.
No team would murder us, let alone a team like Ajax. Did you guys watch Inter vs Real?

I prefer one of Lille, United or Ajax but I don't mind facing one of the big guns. Would be a great measurement for our quality and I like a tough challenge, and if we beat them it skyrocket our confidence.
