You should do both: remove old name field, delete this thread after. Idk what i was thinking when i chose my username back in 2011, but what the hell is the point of changing it, if not confusion.

For those that "desperately" need it, no offence to anyone, make it a paid feature.

I've always felt like a prick for not donating after all these years. Once I graduate from college and have a job I will be sure to.

Getting rid of username changes is reasonable; perhaps with the exception being if a player leaves the club and a member's username has that player (i.e. ForzaKovacic had a strong case to get a new nickname).

I don't want to speak out of turn, but I think Handoyo is probably slightly agitated at people's entitled attitudes when it comes to all of this. Complaining about everything for the sake of everything. However, I do feel there are often legitimate reasons for really wanting to have a username change, but at the same time I feel Vas' rationale to have people's old username visible in order to stop confusion is completely reasonable and valid.

As for donating. It's obviously fantastic if you can donate, but don't feel obliged if you can't. The forum is financially secure for at least the next year thanks to the aforementioned donations. I think Browha contributed generously recently as well.

Not that generously, tbh, but I think my donations have paid for a couple months of forum time. Better than nothing. If we do get close to the edge again I'll make sure I put more money in. Not really into the idea of the forum having a massive cash reserve (as it did a couple of years ago, though to be fair, that cash reserve was necessary to keep us going in retrospect), but if we ever get to the danger zone you can be sure i'll be contributin


It may be helpful if we had the information more prominently somewhere? A shitty thread buried away in the forum makes it kind of hard to have the visibility that it deserves imho. Maybe a 'months cover' counter on the top, or something like that? Or a 'financial status' button, which takes you to the thread?

If you go through the old pages of this thread, you'll find out that many of those complaining about name changes have themselves changed their name at some point, there were always people who changed names a lot, there were people who only changed once, and it seems that many but not all were a bit irritating by constantly asking/whining about their names. What I'm trying to say is, just because some people are annoying when it comes to name changes, it shouldn't affect everyone, a logical solution would be to give infractions to any body who whines in this thread instead of discussing his point in a logical matter, also I think that anyone who changed his name at some point should get an infraction too, it's like a person who was standing in line, and after he gets what he wants, he whines about how chaotic and noisy the line is and suggests closing it.

Well I changed my name from JJM to icardiscore and back to JJM because some people thought they were funny when they wrote icardisucks or icardimisses and many other "cute" versions...I dunno why...out of spite or... actually I don't even care why...

In all seriousness, I genuinely feel the need for at least a temporary old name field because even someone like me gets confused with all the changes. And that is also why I even contemplated on abolishing the whole name change thing altogether. But rest assured that no decisions will be taken rashly. We all put our thoughts before deciding anything.
