Behrami is a solid player, he always give his all in the pitch, just shut up haters. This thread remind me of Palacio thread.

People always like to do this and point out when the general consensus is wrong, but in reality the general consensus around here is more often than not quite close to the mark. And generally when the consensus do get things horribly wrong is when people judge a player without really seeing him. People didn't want Palacio because of the whole "he's 28 years old and played most of his career at Boca and Genoa therefore he cannot be that good otherwise he'd already be at a big club" argument rather than actually having seen him played on a regular basis.

Whereas Behrami plays for Napoli and a lot of people have actually seen quite a lot of him. And the consensus isn't that he's useless, it's that we should get going after someone better.

Even if we get makalele in his prime, the other midfielders still have heavy defensive work to do. WM had gargano and still made inler do dirty work. He "upgraded" lol gargano with behrami and same thing, inler or whoever still has heavy defensive work.

The rationale that buying ONE D PLAYERS like behrami because it will somehow magically free up the defensive work of kova/hernanes is a faulty rationale imo.

We're in 2014. Not 1995. All players have to attack and defend. None of the top teams (are we aspiring to be a top team?) have ONE D midfielders. Why should we?

Its a fucking downgrade from Cambi to Behrami, everyone knows that. EVery single one, even behrami mom knows it.

Is it a downgrade? We have to see how he's going to be used in comparison to how Cambiasso was used this year. In reality I think it's like trading a player with huge flaws in one area for a player with huge flaws in another.

Behrami is never going to be as slow as Cambiasso, but he's never going to be as composed on the ball as Cuchu either

Either way neither one of them is going to help us get a CL spot.

1. Taider is b2b, but i'd definitely take him over Behrami.
2. Crisetig is DLP, not a destroyer. Much more offensive player.

I didn't say a DM. I said he is b2b, and as a player, id take him in a heartbeat. Also, he can do very good job as a DM imo, has all the characteristics that Behrami has (except stregth and tackling ability), but also offers much more in the attack. Even if, just IF, Behrami is atm better, Taider has potential to be MUCH better in future, just needs to play.

Okay, look nobody is saying Behrami is trash, apart from Pajo. The point is that he shouldn't be the first fucking person we go for. Why pay 6 mil for Behrami when plenty of other younger, better, and more well rounded players available on the market?


Is Behrami really going to be the savior of our defense? I honestly don't think ANY of the DMs will be, so I'd rather go for a solid DM that can do more than 1 task. Our defensive mistakes were related exclusively to Cambi, it was a combination of mistakes that lead to goals on the counter.

I didn't say he is trash either. Just that is the definition of mediocrity. Good player to have in the squad, but by no means as a starter. And since we are limited with resources, just spend on ONE great DM and bring back Duncan or someone to be a backup. Taider can cover there too.
