There's the men's tournament going on as well. Greece managed to commit suicide vs Ukraine yesterday, losing 3-2 after a 2-1 lead.

Oddly enough, about 7-8 years ago, we had the chance to take Bošković into Turkish citizenship. Some idiots at Galatasaray's youth team thought she won't be a great player. Ironically ,she's been playing in Turkish league for 6 years and almost in every NT game she easily destroys us.

She was offered the citizenship in order to play for the national team but she rejected as she wanted to represent Serbia. The offer was conditional so it was eventually retracted as she said no.

Italy is European champion. They definitely deserved it.

It seemed that Turkey got tired of Serbia a lot yesterday because the game lasted 5 sets ,but in the other semi final game Italy defeated The Netherlands very easily. Today even Bošković looked very tired. On the other hand ,Italy's Egonu-Sylla duo was so spooky. In my opinion Miriam Sylla is the player of the final game.

Before this game Turkey beat The Netherlands and won the bronze medal as expected.

Fought really hard for the 2-2, at 24-24 the refs just stopped the play to give Poland the point for no clear reason


Good job given the circumstances, but Greece isn't at a good level for international volleyball.

Just equalized Serbia 2-2 after an epic 4th set. We probably have close to zero chances of winning anything of note in this sport*, but damn is this team sexy.

Saved its best for the toughest opponents, world champs Poland and European champs Serbia. Hopefully a morale booster for the next tournaments.


*full disclosure: more chances than expecting a football trophy until July 2004
