I don't follow the league but I hear they were 8 out of 12 teams so yeah I reckon he failed.

They are 2nd in the league and not 8th, this has been their best season in a while.

We can't judge him on his current job at AlNasser. The best coach in the world might not succeed in the Middle East and this is due to several reasons that shouldn't effect our choice. Zenga on Inter bench? I fantasized of that years ago! He did very well with Catania although his spell at Palermo wasn't that impressive. But is it the right time for him to take charge of the Inter? I personally think it might be not due to the pressure to deliver he will face specially this year where people will consistently compare it with last season.

That's from the UAE league. Totally different country :palm:

Here are the standings for the Saudi League.

Didn't knew that sorry. Then why did he get fired seems he was doing good if the team was not the best there?

Not paying the staff member and players is very common in the Saudi League, I'm not sure if that is the case with Zenga but it could be. I think that you're looking at a team that is always under pressure and found themselves sitting at first, then two back to back draws put them in second with Al-Hilal having two games in hand. The fans as well as the board members, my cousin being one of them, enjoy pointing fingers at everything but the reality that the team is just not good enough. The consensus seems to be that the team is not achieving what they could be achieving and not playing good football and the blame is often placed on Zenga and him not understanding the players. Brujita might be more knowledgeable with the league but from word of mouth I know that new key signings such as Abdulrahman AlQahtani are unhappy at their lack of minutes and some key players seem to have been blaming it on Zenga. The added pressure of two consecutive draws and the way that it was done, with the media ridiculing and humiliating the team's Prince and manager because of his post-match antics, could have led to Zenga being sacked.

In the Arab Gulf, a team that looses a single game the coach job will be at danger no matter what he achieved in the previous matched :p Zenga is better off being sacked cuz now he can get back at working on the highest level again in Serie A hopefully very soon or maybe in England no one knows...

Well I don't think they'll be battling for relegation but Zenga wasn't the best choice imo.

Yeah.. they'll simply get relegated without battling it.

Broke Catania's record of points in Serie A and was sacked by Palermo. I think Zenga has a pretty decent track record, his mistake was going to Palermo. Remember him on commentary, he sounds pretty smart tbh I think he can do well.

It's not us that are linked with him, it's him desperately wanting to coach us. In every interview he does, he'll always say I would love to, it would be a dream come true, the best thing in the world etc. You know, like an extremely clingy gf. Nothing to hate on that though, as he was an Inter legend, however it's very annoying to hear him on repeat. We'll see how he does at Samp.
