Today's situation is more hilarious/ironic than anything.

Lazio or Villarreal memories really hurt.

I think exiting to Manchester United in 2009 is what stings the most. Ibra screwed up!

I still stand by this, only because I'm a younger fan. When I did my research when becoming a supporter though, I can understand why 2002 should be the most painful. 2002 was a bad sports year for me (ignoring the Lakers) so I know the feeling of agony. (See Tuck Rule).

This Novara moment is probably more laughable or embarrassing, but not painful because we knew this team is shit. It's more being so bad, you can almost laugh at how much of a joke we've become.

I was wondering what you have deemed the most painful moment watching Inter Milan in the past.

My most painful moment watching Inter came on the 5th of May 2002 - when we lost the league on the last game of season vs Lazio .

What's yours?

me too...

Manchester United 2 - 0 Inter (UCL 2008/2009 - 1/8 Finals).

I must admit this one was particularly painful for me as well. I watched the first leg at Old Trafford but was unable to watch the second leg, which I'm almost glad about.

It was horrible watching as we were completely dominated.

Semi-final loss in 2003 Champions League on away goals against Milan was so painful. Remember being anguished for a long time.

Ronaldo injury (second one with Lazio). It was like watching the last dinosaur die.

Oh well, I hadn't noticed this thread. :D

(1) May 5, 2002: (Lazio 4-2 Inter)
(2) 2003: Champions League semi-final against Milan (knocked out on away goal rule)
(3) Ronaldo's departure
(4) 2001: Inter 0-6 Milan

..... There are many more for sure but the above ones are in a totally different level.

:)

Apart from the mentioned moments above:
1-5 vs Arsenal and in the same group stage 0-2 @Kiev
The loss/unwinning streak during beginning of 2004 calendar year until 2-0 victory vs Ancona
Villareal '06
0-2 vs Bayern @San Siro in 2006. Ibra & Grosso got red. Owned by a certain Andreas Ottl.

I would also add seeing Roberto Baxhio leave because of fucking Lipi.

This Marseille series in my case could be up there on painful moments in the short term. Two goals in stoppage time is how I define heartbreak. i know it's far from painful for most of you, and the expectations were low, but when a team didn't have to lose so late, it hurts. I hate those late losses.
