I'm not just being boring, its just that I firmly believe our past shapes our present guise and that changing any aspect would change who we were and I for one like who we are. The one aspect that you change could have ramifications that were not expected and we might be worse off, or have a different identity that doesn't suit us.

That is not the point of this thread though. You are taking it way to literally. The idea is to change a bad moment in the past, to make the past better, without hurting the present, only making the present better.
