Almeyda revealed in his biography that PED usage was prevalent in Italian football, and that specifically Parma was not an exception.

Here's an excerpt from an article by the Guardian:

"At Parma we were given an IV drip before games," Almeyda said, in extracts printed by the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. "They said it was a mixture of vitamins but before entering the field I was able to jump up as high as the ceiling.

"Players do not ask questions but then in the following years there are cases of former players dying from heart problems, suffering from muscular issues and more. I think it is the consequence of the things that have been given to them."

One of the biggest shocks of the book, especially following the latest match-fixing scandal to hit Italian football, is Almeyda's revelations that Roma players asked their Parma counterparts to throw a decisive match between the two clubs at the end of the 2000-01 season. Roma won 3-1 and edged out Juventus for the Serie A title.

"Some Parma team-mates told us that the Roma players wanted us to lose the game. That as we weren't playing for anything, it was the same," said the River Plate manager. "I said no and the majority responded that way. But on the field I saw that some were not running as they always did. So I asked to be substituted and went into the changing room. Money? I do not know, they called it a favour."

From an article from the Independent on doping, published in 1998:

A leaked police report showed that 21 of 25 Parma players had an unusually high red blood cell count in tests carried out during pre- season training. Such high levels cansometimes be the result of usingEPO, a red blood cell booster that increases oxygen in the bloodstream and is associated with endurance sports, particularly cycling. Use of EPO, which thickens the blood and can cause heart attacks, was responsible for a spate of suspensions at this summer's Tour de France.

I believe Zeman also boldly accused Del Piero and Vialli of using performance enhancing drugs at Juve

Iirc Alessio Tacchinardi, a former Juve player, confirmed these allegations

I just readed this and I'm just going to stop here:

Your "argument" or opinion, apart from being beyond :palm:, is disrespectful to people like Zanetti, Maldini, Roberto Carlos, Cambiasso, Scholes, Giggs, Raúl, Valderrama and different players who started from zero and made sacrifices to be what they are and achieve what they've achieved.

And yes, I'm kinda proud of don't knowing a shit about ragging roids.

im sorry willy not only roids are PED there are other non hormonal drugs... so again shut the fuck up if you dont know anything
and im sorry for taking out facts that you dont like. i dont understand how im disrespectful for talking truth

While I don't agree with Rasha's sentiments completely, I'd say the lack of drug testing in football doesn't exactly put any of us in a good position to defend players from doubters. To not admit the possibility of there being wide spread drug use in football is rather ignorant. I wouldn't be surprised if several of the players you just named have taken things in the past that are considered performance enhancing drugs. I wouldn't be surprised now. Especially in Italy which has many of the most notorious doctors when it comes to PEDs. And its pretty common knowledge that many of their clients in the past were footballers.

ts all about making money .. club is there to cover doctors about PED

and i dont think there is lack of doping test its just smart approach by doctors, because every drug has period detection so you know how to manipulate with them.. even if they get caught, they pay to doping agency to remain silent.

belive it or not all listed players were on PEG, or are still so sorry willy so sorry shaun

Why are you apologizing to me? I basically just said that it wouldn't surprise me if the guys he listed were on, or are on shit. I just think it's unreasonable to suggest every professional player is on drugs.

And I'm aware of the fact that different drugs have different detection periods. I'm also aware of the fact that doctors know about micro-dosing in order to stay below the levels which can get players in trouble. Just because you've juiced in the past though, it doesn't mean you're an expert on every professional sportsperson.

I read about PEDs on a weekly basis on a cycling forum I'm a member of. I've seen several documentaries on the subject. I don't need to be lectured by a guy in Serbia who thinks he's a world authority because he's taken and administered tren.

Naive and stupid about what? I believe that drug usage is common place in football. I just find it difficult to believe that absolutely everyone in top level football is taking substances that are banned by WADA though. You seem to know that I'm wrong.

It's like you arguing that all male hairdressers are gay, and I'd reply that I'm sure there are some straight ones. Then you tell me that YOU KNOW and that I'm stupid

I think you're making yourself look like an idiot. I understand that some people on this forum belittle you for your English and whatnot, and you want to make yourself feel better by flaunting your area of expertise, but it doesn't mean you need to go around belittling everyone. Especially in this case. You're speculating about the intimate details of all top players and clubs. Utterly insane.

your example is stupid, i would never judge people like that, and i dont give a fuck what other members think of my english, i sad myself its not perfect, so your argument is beyond crap, i tried to have conversation, not to insult you man, but you choose that way, because i constantly say that every professional sportsman is on PED... ok.. there are other places to discuss that, this isnt the right forum for that...

just say me that forum about ped you are reading pls ... and so what if im from serbia ?

ps sorry for calling you stupid .. but you are naive

how can you confirm this? You been letting him grope your bollocks or something
That is the first option that comes to mind? Really? What, are you a gay or something?

No. I accidentally saw him in a hotel in Amsterdam when I walked by, doing things with other men I don't want to describe. He should've closed the curtains. It made all the pieces fall together though, his gay look and attitude, the gayness in farcelona and with their other players, why he even plays for that gay club anyway... I mean, they only learn to dive so they can spot men's wieners under water in a nude's beach.

I'd rather a WC in Brazil than a winter one in Qatar.

I don't get why people hate on Qatar. It's the WORLD cup, not the Germany, France, Italy, England Cup.

It's about time that region of the world got something to up their spirits as superficial as it may be.

Doesn't matter winter or summer, world cup in Qatar is just so so wrong. Not sure how many people will be stuck there for their lifetime without getting exit Visa and how many people live like slaves working in some construction against their will.

Valero saying he's open to playing for Italy. Imagine a midfield of De Rossi - Pirlo - Valero

Agree with WC Qatar not being a good choice, but so is Brazil. The crime rate, the bad infrastructure, corruptiveness, famine, .... it's not time for a World Cup there. FIFA chose one of the most unsafe big countries in the world. In my opinion, this is a big mistake.

enough with this bullshit man. as I said it's the world cup, not the european cup. If you don't want to go to Qatar, Brazil, etc.. you're more than welcome to stay at home.

All this shit because a middle eastern nation gets the cup, even though they have like one of the highest GDPs in the world :palm:

The only way FIFA isn't corrupt is if they host it in Germany and England every 4 years.

Neither did England or any other place 200 years ago, but things change. That region of the world is growing. Qatar has the highest GDP per Capita in the world . They are more than financially capable to host the tournament.

But please going on with the stereotypes, no footballing culture, high crime rates, terrorism, etc... and whining when other regions of the world get a chance like this. Or monster's excuse of "slave labour". You want slave labour mate, go to the U.S. there's plenty of it there. But they have a good PR team, so they cover it up.

This is the World Cup, and it should be hosted in as many different regions of the world as possible not just the same 3-4 places again and again.
