Title says it all. Curious to see what you all think. I vote Joao Mario. Kondgobia is somewhat redeemed since we got 25 million plus a sell-on fee back, which isn't terrible all things considered.

Some lower-dollar ideas I had but excluded from the poll include: Jonathan (about 5 million), Forlan (about 5 million), Vidic (free), Pereira (12 million), and Guarin (about 10 million).

Barbosa
Joao Mario
Dalbert
Kondogbia
Vidic
Diego Forlan
Ricky Alvarez
Eder

In that order. Probably I missed a few. So the vote goes to Barbosa.

Ranocchia was not a bad transfer. Neither was Hernanes. They just weren't as good as we had hoped. Something similar applies with the Guarin and Jovetic transfers for example. Ruben Botta was a bad transfer, but since he didn't cost us a non-EU spot I removed him from the bottom of that list.

I'd say Barbosa. Mario at least had some positive impact first few games last season.

Barbosa no doubt. From both footbal and money perspective.

On another note, Forlan case is a myth to me. He was an established player at AM and turned out so crap at Inter.

I agree with Varmin. It's definitely Barbosa for me. Mario's first season wasn't that bad. He was our best midfielder under De Boer and even under Pioli he had a positive impact. On the other hand, there's nothing to remember about Barbosa apart from a goal even a 5 year old would have scored.

We were somewhat reimbursed for Hernanes and Kondogbia.

Ranocchia has also had a lot of good performances, especially last season as the team around him improved. He’s kept up the professionalism and seems to have respect of the team and coach. An decent 4th option as far as I’m concerned.

Pereira deserves the spot more as 12mil back then is the equivalent of 20mil+ by today’s standards.

selling Kovacic for €35m and getting Kondogbia in return was imo the worst transfer post treble.

It's hard to remember all the fantastic players Ausilio, Branca and Moratti himself brought us here:
- Silvestre
- Pereira
- Mudingayi
- Zarate
- Melo
- Osvaldo
- Castaignos
- Mariga
- Forlan
- Santon
...

Shout-out to Rocchi and the GOAT himself, Jonathan.

Honorable mention for most depressing rumour goes to John Carew.

Santon? What are you talking about? We got him for 4m and we sold him 3 years later for 10m :D

I am surprised no one has mentioned Dodo

If we also mention low cost purchases then Kuzmanovic has to be included.

The Barbosa transfer is where we lost money for another good midfielder that would make us a lot better.

They were worth it for this goal alone

Kuzkuz was a nightmare tbh... Imo one of our worst
Still to think of how shitty we were, it is a miracle we didn't relegate. Divino, belfodil, Pereira, kuzkuz, Silvester, horse, rocchi , Naga... Lel

From that time only brozo and icardi came out unscathed.

Such a gem. I remember being in a dark irish pub in the middle of the day, figuring I was the only fuck watching the game. Turns out I had company, because when Jonathan scored that an older man started crying and yelling "miracolo!" in italian . Instant drinking buddies haha. One of few good memories during that period
