Would you sell Murillo for Witsel?

I only opened this thread so a poll could be added, because I wonder about the results.

There is a rumour floating around that Murillo might be sacrificed for Witsel, which would probably mean a Medel-Miranda CB pairing and Witsel in front of them. What do you guys think about this?

Do you prefer to keep Murillo or would you prefer the second option?


Also, if Murillo stays and we bring Witsel anyway, what would our midfield look like? Comment below

Probably not.
For one, Medel is proven with 3-man def in Chile, but not knowing about 4 man def. For the other, witsel-benega-kdog is probably a bit unreliable on defensive side.
But a lineup with
Perisic benega brozovic
witsel kdog

does look quite exciting on paper, maybe it can offer a good attacking game. Anyway biglia/de rossi type player to replace witsel will just looked perfect there.

No. We've lacked a solid defensive pairing as much as we've lacked a Motta-like player in the midfield. We now have both so to sacrifice either one right now would be a huge step backwards.

I voted no.

I rate Witsel, but as I have mentioned elsewhere before, we need a DM (with some passing ability) more than a Witsel. I would only sell Murillo if we get a better CB.

On the other hand, I rate Witsel over Kondogbia, but we cannot sell K-dog yet as its FFP reductive. There is no urgency for this trade either, because K-dog has the potential to grow into a Witsel or even better.

I vote Yes. I don't like Witsel, but we have been missing such a player since 2011. He can be our new Motta, regista, good in interceptions and capable of launching attacks.

Murillo's a good defender, with a lot of potential. But our defense stands with a Handanovic in beast form. If it wasn't for Handa, most people would talk about reinforcing the defense.

Anyway, I'm sure we'll be able to get a new partner for Miranda regardless.
