I used to watch them but I got bored and tired somewhere in 2003. I think the quality has just gone down so much from the early 2000s and it's just not worth watching. Triple H is always in the contention for the title, Edge's character is screwed up, Benoit as talented as he ever is just couldn't cut it as a sports entertainer, Shelton Benjamin is not a good wrestler & God knows why he is (was?) the Intercontinental Champion.

So who are the current superstars in both shows?

By the way, I have a massive collection of WWE VCDs of almost every PPVs from the early 2000s. My favourite is WrestleMania X7. :star:

That is a great Wrestlemania handoyo, the current superstars for both shows are

Raw: Triple H, Randy Orton "THE LEGEND KILLER" :) my fave, Jericho,Benoit, Shawn Micheals, Edge

Smackdown: Kurt Angle, JBL (John Bradshaw Layfield), John Cena the dr. of thugonomics :D , Undertaker

I too got bored of it in 2003 but my older brother is a huge fan and got me hooked on it again. Randy Orton and John Cena are my fave's both are young and great. JBL is very funny and is a great champ for smackdown.

well I watch WWE most weeks my favorite wrestler would have to be Baptista(on RAW) because he is a monster,he has mussels everywhere but he should leave that stupid evoloution group though but there still no beating the "Undertaker" on the smackdown roster .

But the lamest character now has gotta be the 'angry' paranoid Edge.:rollani: Totally childish! I miss the good old days of him and Christian as a tag team. :( They have got to be one of the funniest pair in sports entertainment ever. :D That shot they took on Elvis few years ago was priceless. :D

Randy Orton is arrogant but it is a good arrogance and I think he is great and hopefully he kicks Triple H's ass at the royal rumble also My money is on Batista to win the 30 men Royal Rumble match.

You guys probably won't remember this, but the haydays of the WWF was in late eighties-early nineties. What they show now is pure crap, I used to stay up late until 2 a.m. during high school to watch WWF Raw when I had to get up 7 the following morning.

I even used to watch it as a kid without understanding a word of English, I just used to love it. Now, it's really garbage!!! I don't know what happened but it seems they deviated from their course and wanted to be more of an entertainment show. I just loath the stupid matches they have now, specially the stupid stripping matches and stuff.

Today's wrestlers are nothing compared to Macho Man, Bret Heart :star: , Mr. Perfect, Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels, The British Bulldog etc...

The last great match that i saw and liked was 2-3 wrestlemanias ago. It was sort of a 'hell-in-a-cell' 3-way tag team match for the title. You had the Hardy Boys, Edge & Christian and the Dudly Boys. That game was sick, but won't come as good as Shawn Michael VS. Razor Ramon for the Intercontinental title in 95.

Well Hamed, I have to agree with you that the show was clearly spectacular back in that era. However I think it is still great today. That ladder match was incredible. I agree it is more entertainment but there are still great matches. The wrestlers today aren't legends like that but there are still some great technical wrestler, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton.

Curt Angle is great, many great wrestlers said in interviews that he is the best wrestler they've seen. Not to add his 'mic skills', the guy is funny and is articulate. I still remember the 3 I's.

Chris Benoit is an excellent technical wrestler, that's it. He doesn't have the gift of the mic, he should adopt the image of a bad guy with a manger that does all the talking.

I'll get to the rumble winner at the very end of this post ;) this was a fantastic ppv one of the best i've seen in a long time, here are some small match reviews.

First Match

Edge def Shawn Michaels, This was a very entertaing match, at the end edge did use the ropes to get the 3 count.

Undertaker Def Heidenreich in a CASKET MATCH! This match was so entertaing, Gene Snitsky came down and helped Heidenreich beat up Taker and they told the refs to open the casket to put him in and KANE was in the casket and him and snitsky fought in the crowd. Then the match continued with some great moments. Undertaker stuck Heidenreich's head into the casket and leg dropped the casket, then gave him the tombstone, rolled him in the casket and closed it to win the match.

JBL def Kurt Angle, Big Show

This match was also very entertaining, the 2 man JBL and Angle had a very difficult time dealing with the massive big show, They fought all over the place, Angle put the big show through a table and then him and JBL slugged it out until the Big Show got up, then something spectacular happened, big show through JBL through the black padded steel walls seperating ringside from the crowd, Angle's men Mark Jindrack and Luther Regins came down and beat up the big show, paramedics came out and were going to put JBL on a stretcher but then Orlando Jordan JBL's chief of staff :dielaugh: came got him up and rolled him in the ring. JBL then instinctively gave Kurt Angle and Clothesline from hell and retained his title.

Triple H def Randy Orton :(

This match was probably the best of the night, great technical skill and excitement. Evolution was banned from ringside so there was no interference. Randy Orton "sustained a concussion" ;) after Triple H got out of his DDT and slammed his head against the mat, then HHH hit him hard and he clashed with the ref, the sledgehammer then made an appearance but Orton hit Triple H before they can use it, they fought outside then Orton gave Triple H a nice neckbreaker and both man were down. Orton went for the sludgehammer but then Triple H saw it coming and kicked orton in the stomach. Orton dropped the sledgehammer and Triple H gave him the pedigree to win the title.

The 30 Men Royal Rumble

I'm just going to name some entertaining moments during the rumble and then eventually get to the finish. The million dollar tough enough winner Daniel Puder made his WWE debut in the rumble, Benoit, Hardcore Holly, and Eddie Gurrero took turns beating him up badly and then threw him out it was great. Arab American wrestler Mohammed Hassan then entered the rumble and was ganged up upon by all 8 men in the ring at the time then they through him out. Kurt Angle was eliminated by Shawn Micheals but then came back and threw out HBK and beat him badly. Micheals was busted wide open and Angle then gave him the ankle lock. The Final 2 men were John Cena and Batista. Batista went to throw Cena out and they both ended up on the floor at the same time. The refs argued and then Vinny Mac himself came down. While the refs were still arguing Batista threw out Cena, then Cena came back in and threw out Batista. Vince ordered the match restart and then Batista gave Cena the Batista Bomb and threw him out to win the royal rumble.

Batista. :D Is he still in Evolution? By the way, the 2000 Royal Rumble was one of the best PPV ever. :star: It featured the first tag-team table match (I think) between Hardy Boyz and Dudley Boys. Also has the New York Street Fight between Cactus Jack and Triple H which was one of the best match ever.

So NF1989, Kane is now pals with Undertaker again?
