If Strama/Branca/whoeverthefuckelse can't identify a single midfielder that can improve our team other than Paulinho, given the shambolic state of our midfield, then they should all look for a new line of work.

Pjanic, Vidal, Valero.. Even Veloso... All around 10 mils and low wage.

:eek:blivious:

I'm sure as hell there'd be alternatives out there better and more proven than Paulinho.

It's not like he'll instantly get us to top three, there's no point panic buying him this mercato. And plus, we don't wanna rush our sale with Coutinho, he can easily go for a better price if we loan him out in January to Espanyol or something, and sell him next summer.

It just seems like we're panicking bad, and are just doing whatever in order to get our hands on Paulinho.

None of those will be sold from their clubs, none have a market value of 10m and to get them in January you will have to give them an offer they can't refuse. So you are talking 20m+.

This is just depressing. We are painted into the corner. I just now hope that Paulinho says no, or Alvarez finds a buyer, or EPL clubs find our price for Coutinho too high.

They moved for such figures within the last couple of transfer markets. Not saying that they cost that now but we could have gotten them last summer (Pjanic, Valero) or the summer before(Vidal). Thats he's point.

To be fair, we did acquire Guarin out of those bunch of available midfielders, we didn't miss out on everyone, so it wasn't so bad...

Totally irrelevant to the situation now. If Gargano was as good as he was with Napoli we wouldn't be scrambling for a midfielder in January. Our temp to tide us over for a year (Serie A proven) turned out to be a lemon. Who else do we get in January?

Anyway

Micheal is reporting the GDS is adamant that Paulinho's Buyout Clause is 15m not 18m. How the fuck is it possible for there to be so much confusion about something as direct as a buyout clause. WTF is going on?

For 15m just sell Jonathan to whoever will take him and get a couple of million on short term loan until the summer. We don't need to sell Coutinho.

For Brazilian players, it could be that there is a buyout clause for Brazilian clubs but not for others or others it's different.

Anyway, losing Coutinho for Paulinho will be borderline ridiculous decision, if it comes down to that. I will lose my faith to this management if they do it.

There's nothing suggesting that Paulinho even wants to come and play for us. He rejected us in the summer how is it different now.

We just need more money and that's why we are selling Coutinho. I doubt that we are even after Paulinho. There is zero reliable reports about that.

Imagine the amount of pressure this guy will be under if he actually does come especially if it costs Sneijder and Coutinho/Alvarez. If he doesn't perform right away the media and fans will eat him alive.

Yeah, if he does sign for Inter, he will be entering a pressure cooker. Good players have failed with that kind of baggage, just ask Torres ;)

I hear its still 15m, which I think is fair price for someone like him now. Good, young midfielders are rare these days.

Alvarez is trash. No one sane would put any pressure on the guy in case he is replacing Alvarez. It's not like media or fans are high about on ''Snail''.

15m will not cover the pain meds needed by Inter fans because of the headaches this transfer saga has caused.

We have no clue about his buyout clause, we have no clue how much it will cost to get him here, we have no clue if he even wants to come.
