“I do not think that we realize the economic strength of Brazil. Brazilian clubs are going through a golden age just like many European clubs when the calender turned to 2000. Corinthians are a very rich football club and Paulinho’s shirt is the second most sold shirt in the entire Brazil just after Neymar. I’m talking about a player who is earning more than two million euros per year. Inter have lost a lot of time and they should have signed the player long ago. Last summer, Paulinho could be bought for six to seven million euros, now the player is worth about 18-20 million and the price will only go up.”
What else can we do?
We can move onto another target, and stop wasting our time.
Who's time ?
Management's time? Did you really have to ask that?
like they work on one target at a time
So? They are still allocating their time on Paulinho, doesn't make a difference.
I'd call it a waste of time. Not in the literal sense, and not because he may be overpriced (he is) and may or may not be the kind of midfielder we need (he isn't). More so in the sense that whether or not we blow 20mil on this dude obviously dictates the rest of our mercato. If we're still holding out hope of signing him, we can't very well go out and spend any kind of real money elsewhere. Hell, we apparently need to sell Coutinho just to fund the bid for this guy. Maybe we have some sort of capable alternative lined up. Or maybe we don't. Guess we'll see.
