If this happens it will be even worse than the quaresma trade not only we will get a useless overated medfielder which we will be trying to sell in two years time but also we will loose our second (Jesus) most promising young player just peachy

Sorry kiddies but Paulinho would be more usefull for Inter than Cou is atm if we want to see CL but in the long run it would be better to keep Cou..you know for the fictional youth project

flame me as you please but it is the reality of things

I said that before, at THIS moment. But what about in two years? And what about playing with no proper winger/AM, young one?

That's why I said, getting Belhanda AND Paulinho works both now and in the future, and would be great deal. But getting Paulinho only, might strengthen us till June, but then what? Retarded decision

Ffs. Can't nobody please give us 8 million for Alvarez. Please? :(

I don't want to see Cou in other clubcolours... This is beyond moronic. Why give away a player who has the potential to grow out to be a top player. For a player who hasn't proven shit in Europe yet. I really hope our management gets fucked anyway. Selling Cou and Paulinho ending up at Chelsea.

I get it what you'e saying Pajo but MM wants CL at all cost so Strama knows he needs a CM to make a difference for the CL race.
Unfortunatly for us we need money for a decent MF...lots of it infact and Cou is the only one sellable for a huge amount of €.

We've sold Sneijder for peanuts imhfo and now we can't bring quality with that money so we need to sell some more...which is retarded yes but the mgmt is at fault for it

1. People running the club are complete idiots unaware of the stuff that's happening in the middle of the shit they are trying to conduct business in. Proof:

“I do not think that we realize the economic strength of Brazil. Brazilian clubs are going through a golden age just like many European clubs when the calender turned to 2000. Corinthians are a very rich football club and Paulinho’s shirt is the second most sold shirt in the entire Brazil just after Neymar. I’m talking about a player who is earning more than two million euros per year. Inter have lost a lot of time and they should have signed the player long ago. Last summer, Paulinho could be bought for six to seven million euros, now the player is worth about 18-20 million and the price will only go up.”

No further explanation needed, just this ^.

2. Paulinho better turn out to be a world class player for us. There I said it.:palm:

But seriously. I won't even go into dissecting which (proven) players could have been bought for that kind of money for the last several years. Branca and Moratti have said we can not afford to buy 30M players no more. They've said it multiple times. So spending this much on Paulinho is basically Inter going crazy and breaking the bank for one guy.

After all those trash transfers where we spent ridiculous amount of money on plethora of mediocre players, we have finally decided to spend big on one guy. Hopefully a quality one.

There are some red flags though, with Paulinho not being our first big target to spend money on(Lucas) and his price just skyrocketing over the night because those Brazilian fuckers can't be pushed around any more and are pretty capable of squeezing european clubs for more money.

But if Paulinho 'refused' to sign last season, what else (bar putting a gun to his head) could you do ? Offer even more money for a player that majority here would kick and scream: "but he's not proven, he's not worth that much" ?!

What else can we do?

We can move onto another target, and stop wasting our time.

The problem with Paulinho isn't the risk of his price, it is the risk of the sacrifice required. An 18m player who flops is annoying, but one that costs you a potential future star is even worse.

 like they work on one target at a time

So? They are still allocating their time on Paulinho, doesn't make a difference.

I'd call it a waste of time. Not in the literal sense, and not because he may be overpriced (he is) and may or may not be the kind of midfielder we need (he isn't). More so in the sense that whether or not we blow 20mil on this dude obviously dictates the rest of our mercato. If we're still holding out hope of signing him, we can't very well go out and spend any kind of real money elsewhere. Hell, we apparently need to sell Coutinho just to fund the bid for this guy. Maybe we have some sort of capable alternative lined up. Or maybe we don't. Guess we'll see.

Must be an 'important' target for Strama :work:

If its not Paulinho we aren't getting anyone else. We will just keep the players we have.

We aren't going for any other 15+m targets. And getting a cheap alternative is worthless, we don't need another Gargano.

If Strama/Branca/whoeverthefuckelse can't identify a single midfielder that can improve our team other than Paulinho, given the shambolic state of our midfield, then they should all look for a new line of work.
