Your bias against some players is hilarious

It was a dive, the way he fell. But he was INTENTIONALLY stopped BY THE LAST MAN IN DEFENSE. How in the name of god that's not a foul?

No, even if that was Totti, it would still be a foul. Again, go watch the video again. Chielini DIDN'T EVEN KNEW WHERE THE BALL WAS. He never ran to tackle, he ran to STOP Ronaldo. He stretched his arm and hit Ronaldo in the neck. Never touched the face tho, so CR felt and was holding his face, which was hilariously pathetic tbh  But i doubt Ronaldo could have stayed up, and even if he did, would have lost balance and never get the ball. If Chielini was running in forward line parallel to ronaldo, Ronaldo would have run over him and be 1 on 1 with Buffon, or go to the right to cross. Chielini didn't have the chance to get the ball first since he didn't even look at the ball, but looked at Ronaldo and way to stop his run at full pace.

Didn't you btw say you played football? Then you do know that every slight contact can make you lose balance when at full pace, especially if animal like Chielini stretch his arm and hits you in the neck.

Chielini did what Italian defenders have been doing for the last 50 years. Ball or man, it's one of the first things you learn as a defender. He definitely would have gotten away with it if he was in Serie A, and probably would have in CL if it wasn't Ronaldo, Messi, or someone considered a "superstar".

Foul? Yes. Yellow? Probably, but because Ronaldo made a meal. Red? Absolutely not.

Serie A refs need to stop allowing shirt pulling in the box in Serie A as it hurts Italian teams when they play in Europe because the players are used to getting away with it

We don't.

It happens in every game of Serie A. I distinctly remember Rano doing it on occasion this season, and I'm sure he's not the only player

Wait, what? Ronaldo is 10x faster than Chielini, would have definitely run over him and get the ball. Chielini DELIBERATELY stopped him. Chielini didn't even LOOK at the ball, he didn't know where it is, he went straight to Ronaldo to stop him. It was 100% foul, 99% yellow and for red, it's debatable. 50% for me.

There's nothing wrong with obstructing the path with your body, which was exactly what Chiellini was doing. The ball also went away from Ronaldo towards Chiellini's direction.

What would've been a red is if Ronaldo was ahead of Chiellini and Chiellini pulled him down from the back.

Chiellini was already in front of him, the ball was already to his left side and away from Ronaldo, and he was obstructing the path, a.k.a. as shielding the ball with his arm, and there is nothing wrong with that.

0:07 See Chiellini was goal side, and the ball was to his left, and Ronaldo not only had to outsprint him, but he had to do a whole U-Turn because the ball was away across Chiellini's body.

He knew he lost the duel so he just settled for a dive.

by looking at that giff ronaldo was not getting that ball and the contact looks minimal not enough to take him down. And pajo you think that would be a foul in lowly english football where i play.

Ok. It's called being "goal side" of the attacker, and a red card shouldn't be given.

What these wingers do is kick the ball ahead of the defender, and try to beat them for pace. But when the defender comes between you and the ball, he has every right to obstruct the path with his arms and body.

This can't be real life.

No, he did NOT have right to obstruct. You simply can't get into someones path. It will ALWAYS be a foul, 50-50 for yellow. Chielini din't even obstruct CR, but hit him with his arm which is totally illegal.

As I said, clear foul and yellow, only the red was debatable.

Chiellini's mistake was that he put his hand up near Princess Ronaldo's face. The Princess then milked it for the foul.

Chiellini is allowed to put his arm out, same as you are allowed to go shoulder-to-shoulder.

An obstruction is not a red card offence.

This tells me that the decision the ref made was of contact of Chiellini's hand to Princess Ronaldo's face. What's sad about this decision is that Princess Ronaldo took the dive because the hand was near his face, knowing he'll earn the foul.

The ref was fooled by Princess Ronaldo's brilliant & Oscar award winning performance. The ref had 2 choices; award the foul against Chiellini for hitting the princess in the face or a yellow card to Ronaldo for diving. Unfortunately he made the first decision.

This is what's so pathetic about the modern game.

Also, it's knucklehead players llike Princess Ronaldo that want more protection from tackles and fouls yyet totally contradict themselves with diving and acting. Fuckin knuckleheads !
