Well deserved for Klopp. Had to happen.

And before Brehme comes here, what a shitty final. The first goal totally killed Spurs and also, starting Kane was a horrible decision, he was off the pitch for more than a month.

That was a tough final to watch unless you’re a Liverpool fan. The performance from Pool was comfortable they pretty much managed the game once they got the early goal. They knew it would be hard for Tottenham to break them down and that they would always be dangerous on the counter. It was honestly very mourinho like.

I don’t agree with Poch’s decision to start Kane. Guy looked off it the whole match and Tottenham looked more disjointed in attack. In the end it’s not what loses them the game but I feel it would have gave them a better chance.

Whatever, on to next year.

Jurgen Klopp just completed my misery. Always wished to hire Klopp instead of Mancini. 3 years later, we have changed coaches 4 times and Klopp wins UCL.

Liverpool deserves this title though. Well developed team. Consistent progression. Money well spent on players who actually deliver performances.

Poch learns a big lesson though. Shouldn't play someone who is unfit just bcs his name is Kane. The referee was probably more active than Kane.

I just think that, unless we're talking about a really small subset of the world's absolute best players, when you have someone who hasn't played in two months, then it's not a good idea to throw them out there, as a starter, in a championship game like this. They may work up fitness in training, sure, but it's a matter of in-game sharpness as well, something you can't simulate on the practice field. Physically or mentally. Kane was disjointed and uninvolved the entire game. I can't remember him doing anything of note in the first half, and only a couple of things during the second half.

Said it before the game and will repeat it now that Kane's best usage tonight was as a second half sub. Ideally somewhere around 60 minutes, on earlier if situation called for it. Starting him was a gamble, and it didn't pay off.

Didn’t Tottenham knock us out by goal difference or some other bullshit?

Conte needs to be able to make the best of what he has. He asked for a shit ton to coach us he has to know we aren’t a EPL team or PSG and will have a low budget to worth with

We're out of settlement agreement hell and have some very wealthy people at the helm of the club. We're not priviledged with Premier League revenue streams and Thohir locked us into some really shitty deals vis-a-vis kit production and shirt sponsorship, but we're not peasants, either. Besides, while he's not running a Dortmund operation over there, a lot of Liverpool's squad building has come from revenues earned through European runs and PL placement finishes as well as player sales (especially Coutinho); in other words, they incrementally improved to get to the point where they could spend big money. I don't see why we can't do the same as long as we don't dipshit around like we've been doing for most of the last decade. Mind you, until today, we had won the Champions League more recently than Liverpool had. It can be done.

Couldn't even be bothered to watch this, but I'm happy for Klopp. One of the best coaches out there, and deserved a CL.

The first CL final I didn't watch since 2004. From what I've read here so far, I think I wont regret it.

I love The Special One's quote on finals - a final is not to play a final is to win!!!

IMO Pocchetino became emotional and played Kane based on emotions and that was a big mistake he made.Plus its been said of late that they did better without Kane in the team.I think Poch has had a lot of luck in getting here and this decision probably shows he is not as clutch as many make him out to be and he still has a long way to go before he can win the big trophies.

Spurs and their fans getting to enjoy about ~60 seconds worth of football followed by their obvious disappointed facial expressions for the other 90+ minutes was kind of satisfying as an Inter fan.
Game itself was absolute garbage.

Well at least it showed what to against Tottenham. That 433 high pressing was impressive.

Oh dearie me my heart broke a bit when Jose Mourinho was asked about next season's favourites and he named the usual favourites - Bayern,Psg,Rubentus,Barca,Real,City,Liverpool ... and then the presenter said "Inter" and The Special One said yes why not they have a new project and a lot of money to be spent but maybe not next year but in a year or two !

Dammit i wish it was him at the helm and i wouldnt bet against us being up there to win the Big Ears with him on the sidelines.

Happily spent my day at Roland Garros, came back late, turned on the tv, watched some Simpsons which were on the first channel that popped, then realized that an open channel had the final at the 40th minute, watched till the end of the half, went off to dinner and came back to see the score. No regrets.

So how did you people enjoy this year's League Cup final?

It was boring bcs there was one team who played the game. Spurs played like chickens.

I haven't see any post final studio analysis nor have i read any posts here, i will in like 30 mins, but before i do I thought in the Ajax game they needed Llorente to be brought in and to play more direct and long balls for them to have a chance in the game, and that is exactly what happened and he helped them hold up the ball and create chances and the rest was history.

Now my 3 points for Spurs

1) How is Luca Moura not starting?

2) How is LLorente not starting?

3) Do you realize how much you fucked yourself by not doing points 1 and 2?

And yes you subbed them on but it was too late by then. How the hell a player who scored a hat-trick in the semi final not start the final is beyond me. And lets start a player who has been injured the last month that was not part of the last couple of CL games. Them making the final though was great for them and hopefully they learn from this game.

Congrats to Liverpool though, after that Barca game they deserved it and Klopp as well, 3 finals in Europe and going all the way in the league and missing out. Salah as well who get injured last year as well and had terrible luck going into the WC.

Salah was kinda too egotistical the whole game, too many times he shot on goal instead of passing, and when he did pass it was like he was intentionally gave the wrong pass.

Sweet goal by Origi tho. Maybe get Origi instead of Lukaku?

Agree that the final was shit.. but... how many finals are good? best i remember was back 2004 liverpool-milan... looks like many of u guys don't remember the shitty finals we had to have Barcelona-Manchester United with a ManU side which was terrible with 40 year-old players still playing. Best games of CL are always in 1/8's 1/4 or sometimes even semis like this year where both semifinals where amazing.
For me this is one of the few years that i can seriously say that the best team won. The same can't be said about Madrid buying ref's.
