We are going after the wrong one. Emerson is a better fullback, Alonso is a better wingback. Both seem out of favour with Lampard, Alonso has been on the bench for the last 2 games. Alonso might be cheaper as well due to his age, at least in terms of fee. And his wages shouldn't be a problem either, thanks to the new tax law. Around €5m gross salary would give Alonso the same take home as he gets at Chelsea

We're going for Emerson because Lampard prefers Alonso and he's a lot cheaper than the Spaniard. I also like we're going for the fullback instead of the wingback. Conte isn't going to stay at Inter forever. If we go for Alonso, then once Conte leaves we'll be stuck with an old player with high wages who can't play in a back 4 and will be impossible to get rid off. No thanks.

Biasin says there's nothing with Alaba or Gosens, but interest in Emerson and we might make an offer soon.

I made my peace with Emerson.

Probably cause I don't like Gosens that much and Alaba seems like pretty unrealistic option and he even don't want to play that position in this stage of his career. Can't see any other option at the moment.

So,is he good on defence and solid in attack or what?As far as I can see he had only one good season in his career and lot of injuries.Seems like worse and younger version of Asamoah.

Mediocracy continues. Marotta is proving that he is worse than Ausilio.

If anyone has a scouting report on Emerson, I would love to hear it.

If anyone has a scouting report on Emerson, I would love to hear it.

I remember wanting Emerson at Inter before he left for Chelsea. I have kept an eye out for him over here, coz I rated his potential. Emerson is an attacking LB (sorry to disappoint a few people here thinking he is good defensively), here is how I see his strengths and weaknesses:

Good:
- Great ball skills, typical Brazilian
- Likes to cut in, doesn't cross too much
- Good intensity, always a livewire when on the pitch
- Surprising good with long passes (he will have no problem finding Lukaku!)

Bad:
- He has been injured too often, and played little
- Yet to prove his potential ie still not enough end product largely due to the above
- Defensively not that great, better than Alonso but thats not saying much coz Alonso is shite defensively
- Shocking low number of goals & assists for an attacking LB. I just checked this - in the last 6 years, he has scored only 3 goals & 6 assists in 110 games in all competitions. Thats piss poor in term of playing time and end product. Just to compare, Biraghi in the same time has 5 goals and 19 assists in 193 games. To compare with someone world class, 21 year old TAA in the last 4 years has 11 goals & 38 assists in 142 games.

3 years ago, I thought Emerson had the potential to become world class. He hasn't developed at all from there, largely down to injuries and bench time at Chelsea. This transfer will be a punt, and however much I rated him before, at this moment I don't want Inter to take a punt at LWB. We have had enough of those.

Between Emerson and Gosens who would you choose?

Emmersn is a very typical Inter signing. Enough gambling for this position, we have enough mediocre players already in that position.

Nicolo Schira: "Emerson Palmieri has handed in a transfer request to Chelsea. The left-fullback wants to return to Italy to keep his spot in the Azzurri EURO2021 squad. Marina Granovskaia wants €25M. Talks ongoing between Inter&Emerson’s agents who is also liked by Juve coach Sarri".

I'd go for loan + option to buy for 20m€ + 5m€ perf-related bonuses. He hasn't been that good at Chelsea so why on Earth would we buy him for that money? He's been there for 2,5 years already, Chelsea will make a profit with even lower price than 20m€.

I'll stay with my initial proposition / prediction, that we wait with Emerson and go for other possible targets. If they don't pan out, we go for lowball Emerson offer (some loan deal or low fee permanent deal). Granovskaia is a tough bitch but they really need to get rid of one LB.

Chelsea wants to splash money on Havertz, so I think they can give us discount if we finish this transaction quite early.

Pretty much this. The amount of money we could have saved if we'd just bought quality instead of 'hoping this one turns out good' over the last few years is maddening.

Sarr has officially left Nice

I can see why he has been linked with us: left footed, young, fast, great potential to further develop and look at those long passes ;)

With Pastorello being his agent I expect him to be joining us for free.

I've noticed an increased presence of Sarrs in the world of football.

Il Messaggero claims there's a platform of agreement over 25m€ for Emerson, total sum split between loan + mandatory redemption. I hope there's some bonus figures involved to that total sum and that the mandatory redemption is tied to something meaningful. I think we would have a good bargaining position at the moment not to commit to Emerson with a pure mandatory redemption, at least with these figures.

Let's see what happens and what the figures really are.
