Thats like saying Andre Villas-Boas was a genius who build a great Spurs team on paper. Coz that was the core that Pochettino used. However, the reality is that Villas-Boas was an idiot who wasted the entire Bale money buying players he couldn't fit into an effective team. Pochettino transformed pretty much the same players into an effective unit.

It was same at Napoli. Rafa bought a lot of players, couldn't make them work for the team, actually took the club backwards after Mazzarri despite the investments. Sarri was the genius who transformed the same players into a completely different team and playing style. For eg, Sarri turned Mertens from an average winger into a quality CF.

Rafa was a good tactician specially till his Liverpool stint, but he was shite at Inter and he was shite at Napoli.

I can understand if Conte starts that. I love Eriksen, and he should be a stater for Inter in the future. But at the moment we lack a counter balancing player in the midfield to allow us to play Eriksen. Bro-Gags or Bro-Barella cannot manage a midfield on their own. If we had someone like Kante, it would be different.

Our midfield gets run over too easily at the moment. If we play only 2 midfielders to allow Eriksen the freedom to attack, our midfield becomes almost non-existent off the ball. Against quality teams that would be suicide.

Of course, I am not convinced whether our midfield is strong enough even with 3 midfielders (Gagliardini-Brozovic-Barella).

One prediction I saw had our midfield with mezzalas and Brozovic as regista. Which is probably to counter Veretout-Cristante and Mhiki-Pellegrini midfield.

Based on what? They are one if the few teams that beat Juventus in Turin during Juventus' consecutive Scudetto streak. Unless you are implying something other than results (because they often lose bad against us)

It's irrelevant who starts in the midfield, because we technically don't play there. The entire system would need to change to get the best out of Brozo, Eriksen, Barella, and since that won't happen under Conte I don't have time to waste anymore thinking about it. I just don't want us to botch this.

If I remember correctly Napoli was playing good under Benitez. They even won the cup.
Then He started having problems with the players, specially hamsik.

He build a great group of players at Liverpool too. It wasn’t just Napoli.

Brozovic was terrible as an advanced midfield for his first two years here, so this is an interesting choice to say the least.
