Indeed. Why and exactly where?

I keep seeing his name mentioned as a vice Bastoni? The fuck is that about? Bastoni is a CB and with the exception of the last handful of matches of the season, Kolarov has spent the entirety of his 30 year career at LB. How does that inform people that he's coming as a vice Bastoni? It's certainly not out of the question that he could cover that position, much like D'Ambrosio plays RWB and RCB, but by all accounts, Kolarov has been really poor playing as LCB in a 3 CB system. I think Kolarov is intended more for LWB, but that's equally fucking ludicrous too.

Personally, I'm of the belief that we can pull a sneaky and get away with having Young & Biraghi rotating that LWB spot next season. Both of them have been really solid for the most part. Between the two of them, they should have that flank locked down.

There are some other considerations though. As others have mentioned, Hakimi could cover LWB (but only in an emergency as obviously we'd prefer to keep a great player in his best position.) Furthermore, we're in need of homegrown players, and Biraghi fills that much needed quota.

And yes, as some have said, I too would prefer Kolarov for a few million than fucking Emerson for 25m. But why in the fuck are we acting like those are the only two left-sided players on the planet? Fuck me. Even if we sign Kolarov, we'd be understaffed. We'd also have a combined age of 70 years old for our two LWB's, one of which (Kolarov) has had his weakest season yet, showing clear signs of decline. We want Biraghi and Biraghi wants us. Dalbert and Fiorentina want each other. They're roughly the same value. How fucking hard can it be? Go and secure Biraghi and get rid of Dalbert.

Guys, this is our starting WBL.

The new center back is probably going to be Marash Kumbulla, provided that we sell Milan Skriniar.

Don't be so sure. I won't be surprised if I read we have switched our focus from Kumbulla to Armando Izzo.

Don't have one.
Apparently his contract is one year plus option for second.

Conte turned Azpilicueta from fullback to side CB to play in his 3 man defence. That's how Conte wants it, he wants the ball playing ability from his side CBs. Ability to fairly confidently dribble (advance) with the ball and pass fairly securely. Kolarov ticks those boxes. What he doesn't tick is the experience to play as CB on a longer stints. Maybe they scouted his positioning is enough for Conte's needs. Of course Kolarov wasn't acquired to be a starter. He's the epitome of #wearesopoor which seems to be the case suddenly.

The difference is Azpilicueta always was a good defender while Kolarov has always been a defensive liability.

Kolarov was clocking 90 minutes as a left sided center back at City just before returning to Italy quite a few times.

It wasn't a great experiment, let's leave it there. He can adapt to the role, but he's not going to be great. Of course he didn't have De Vrij next to him.

He’s gonna have a similar role to what D’Ambrosio has been having this last season.

Only difference is that D'Ambrosio is actually a good defender whereas Kolarov sucks at it. Dumbass move, this.

I remember him having some solid games as a CB in that season. Think they only lost like 1-2 league games when he was actually playing at CB and one was that Leicester game where he scored the free kick and assisted the other goal.

His "solid" games came in those games where City had 80% possession or whatever. Whenever they were tested with him as the center back, it was like pouring stuff into a funnel. It was guaranteed to reach the destination.

You would think they would have lost more than 2 games with him at CB if it was that easy.....

So apparently he's gonna cost 1.5m + Eduoardo Vergani! And you'll think we've learnt from Ninja-Zaniolo swap

It seems we don't even have an agreement with Kolarov. He wants a two-year contract while Inter are only offering one year with option for another season. I sincerely hope this deal falls through.

So? I haven't even seen anything special from Esposito yet. If that guy is next to Esposito then.. not worth the time.

Same thing was said about Zaniolo.
