How did he play yesterday in PSG's crucial game? With Mbappe injured, PSG must be depending on Icardi :work:

:troll:

He didnt even start, kean played .
Icardi played 8min

Hes just a disaster , no wonder we were shit and always in fourth and fifth place with players of his calibre.

Oh please. I don't care of you love or hate players but the hate this guy gets is laughable. This guy scored 111 goals in 188 matches in averages teams and now all of the sudden we going to act as it was his fault we never won anything? He's not my favorite player and I'm not going to defend his performances right now but get your shit together. This guy gave his all when he was here(except maybe his last year) and scored ton of goals. He won more matches for us than he lost. I'm no fanboy or anything but the hate here is unreal.

Anybody who wins the derby for us when I first visited Inter with a hattrick I will cherish for the rest of my life. Am I glad he is gone now and we moved on with Lula? Hell yeah that's not even worth the discussion. It seems you either have to love Icardi or hate him. I guess it's somewhere in between for me.

It is his fault that we didn't win anything. In the season when his move to PSG is fully permanent, Inter win scudetto and PSG is about to lose their Ligue 1 champion streak. He was the curse for us and is now for PSG.

If your attacking plan is center around a striker who can't do anything else except finishing and flicking, don't expect to win anything significantly. His physicality is closed to zero; slow, weak, can't dribble.

If it isn't, Icardi is most of the time useless, as he has been showing for two seasons at PSG.

Tricky player to use tbh.

More like a player fit for mid-table team or at most CL qualification team, if you will, but not a winning team.

I acknowledged he gave so much when he was here, but in the other hand we also gave so much in terms of our play which allowed him to make so many goals. It is a bit weird that one poster argued that we did not build team around Icardi, but then continue explaining that our formation was built (coincidentally) fit for Icardi to thrive in a single striker and he was the focal point of the attack. The system was build literally to get the ball to Icardi to make goals, while others just try to feed the ball to Icardi. No wonder he made lot of goals, but in terms of link up play, he is zero. He also made other players could not provide maximum contribution in that system, i.e. our midfielders rarely made goals.

We were mediocre team and therefore we kind of accepted that at the time, but in PSG no chance the players will accept that and therefore Icardi suffers. Perhaps he need to move to mid table team where he can be the superstar and get the team build around him. That way he probably can get back his scoring pedigree. Roma might be perfect team for that, but I do not think Mourinho like a type of player like him.

I think the simpler explanation is that Icardi is better suited for Italian football. The defenders are slower. He has the ability to park himself in the box since most teams defend behind the ball rather than with high defensive lines.

If you look at his skillset you can see why he didn't do well in Barca's academy. Securing a move to a club like Napoli, Roma, or Milan would be the best thing for his career.

Is he out of favour with Pocchetino? Has played 10 minutes in the last 2 games.

Seems set on a return to Italy as I don’t think Either of Tuchel or Pocchetino were too impressed by him.

That PSG team offensively is like the GSW with Kevin Durant. All those guys had to sacrifice points to play with each other. They can't all be maxing out their stats simultaneously.

There are some rumours that he would be Harry Kane replacement if he get sold and fee somewhere €35-40m! It would be good deal for spurs, but this news smells like total bs!

According to LineaInter, the sale of Icardi for 50m also had a bonus of 22m which (or part of which) has now been triggered. Anyone can confirm this?

If this is true, Suning should spend some of that money to build a statue of Beppe!

I haven't read an article which says bonuses have been activated. But indeed it looks like the deal was 50m€ + 22m€ bonuses (FIFA document) which sounds like a brilliant deal at this moment. Though how much of those 22m€ we will ever see remains to be seen. It wasn't a great season for PSG or Icardi personally.

This author has it all wrong. Icardi’s movement is brilliant, just far to subtle for him or anyone else to understand.

Oh Marotta you traitor! You sold our best player, our captain for peanuts! Not only that you made it public that we wanted to get rid of him so killed off any potential higher bids!

Some people do really live in lala land

So many wrongs in one picture:
  1. Tuchel becomes European champion after he left icardi's team and his former team becomes Italy champion after long last. These are mere coincidence. Tuchel knows nothing about football and we were wrong to dump him.
  2. Leonardo signed him for 50 -70 M when his price could reach 110 M prior. It was a bargain.
  3. Frequently faked injury. It is the fault of club's medical team to not detect it.
  4. He conserved his energy in order to score a goal. If his teammates cannot find him then it their fault. You must ask right people that icardi's did everything right.
  5. Hurts PSG? This is the distorted media narrative and only right people know the truth.

On serious note, it feels good to commit daylight robbery after the fiasco of Gabigol and Joao Mario on us.
