No his current best season is 9 goals in serie b for Ascoli. He’s really never scored more then 10 goals in a season at youth level? Not even at PSV?
Turned 23 before the season he became top scorer in the league for the first time with 22 goals at Torino. How many goals was Immobile scoring when he was Scamacca's age?
I don't really rate Scamacca, but even I think he's worth 2 Pinamontis. Of course on no planet is Pinamonti actually worth 20mil. That's all just bookkeeping nonsense.
No one is claiming we are going to pay €40 million in cash. We are arguing €40mil in value(however you split it between players and cash) is too much for someone who hasn't done much in his career.Yeah, we are not going to pay 40m€ in cash. I don't understand how many times this has to be said. Clearly many times.
If we sign Scamacca, he's gonna be Dzeko's understudy, will learn a trick or two from the master. Then if he's good enough in 2023, he takes the reigns. If not, we sign a new guy and send Scamacca on loan or something.
Exactly. The amount of cash we spend is important in terms of cash flow but it isn't the only thing that matters. His book value is going to be 40m. If the player flops, then you're stuck with him. Arthur at Juve is a similar case. They're stuck with him because of his massive value despite spending just 15m cash. These inflated deals that include counterparts really are a double-edged sword. If the player does well they look like bargains (e.g. Skriniar). But if the player flops, then they look nothing short of a disaster. No one is claiming we are going to pay €40 million in cash. I rather spend a bit more in cash for Jonathan David or Julian Alvarez.
