I haven't played any MMOS since runescape in 2006 or so but I've been enjoying Lost Ark so far. I can't picture myself being super dedicated to it but it's been really fun.

Yeah, people have been hyping it, if I understand correctly before this new launch you could only play it in Russia and Korea. I'm not into Diablo type games, but it does look fun.

So, 2022 so far-

Lost Ark - pretty good
Dying Light 2 - not what was advertised, but overall a good game that needs more patches
OlliOlli World - great 2D skating game, surprise of the year
Rainbow Six: Extraction - SHIT

Horizon: Forbidden West comes out now, the reviews say that it's more of the same. So if you liked the first one, you can't go wrong.

Eurogamer review was ridiculous tho :lol:

As a woman with African roots, it was also startling to see Zulu face paint in the game being treated as a cosmetic, something you can get at a settlement for shards, as if it were fun Halloween makeup - completely removed from its cultural significance

In 6 hours we also get new information on Cyberpunk 2077

I’ve seen one video review of Dying Light 2, thought it looked good. Then did a little bit of research and there appear to be quite a few people who're saying it’s a mixed bag.
Apparently the parkour and the combat are clunkier than in the first one, can anyone confirm?

If I’m totally honest I’m not surprised that people are saying it was overhyped in hindsight. I played the first one (including the DLC), thought it was good, but generally a little overrated. The main story and basically all the side quests were whack imo, the combat was alright I guess (miles better than Dead Island, that’s for sure) and the parkour was obviously the standout feature, which was a lot of fun.
Enjoyable game but far from a classic.
Then the hype machine did a good of promoting it as an enhanced sequel of a game which was often labeled as a milestone in zombie games.

When I finally get to a PS5 I’m going to play Dying Light 2 anyway.

The bugs are a problem and the decisions you can make usually make less of an impact than it was advertised. They just wanted to ship out the game before Horizon 2 and Elden Ring

I've never played a Souls game but I'm looking forward to Elden Ring. Looks like a cool open world title.

I also hope Skate 4 gets a release date soon. I hate that I can't go back and play the previous titles.

Elden Ring will also be more accessable than previous titles, altho I reeeeeally recommend Bloodborne. It's top5 game of the generation.

I think the point is to learn to press parry at the right time and to know when to roll away. Which is, of course, harder than it sounds.

My old man reactions just couldn't do this, back in the day I would have smashed through it I reckon, I literally just could not get parry hit at the time needed even though I was adamant I was doing it.
