I'm so torn on this. I am normally against revisiting the past kinda moves but part of me thinks maybe just maybe, but the main nagging doubt for me is his different role in a non-Conte system and the lack of Pintus. We could do this and just as easily have the burden that Chelsea are currently stuck with enjoying, which I think looks more likely than Rom getting that second rub of the green and returning to his old Inter self.

He will be more motivated than before.
Lukaku is big upgrade from Dzeko.

I think this season Will success because Lautaro improved and Lukaku sure will perform.

He should pay his loan fee for one year or at least pay up 10 mil, 50% and prove that he will be great this season, win things, dominate, then 2nd year it will be clear who will pay.
If you are are forcing these moves, you got to take a beating on your money as well, outside of reduced wages.

How much is Chelsea asking in total? €80-90m?

most reports i saw were saying Chelsea would want 15M for the loan, but Inter would offer 6 or 7M.
It pretty much comes to the sale of a big player. Now if we sell Skriniar, I say Lukaku is here 80%, and if not, then theres pretty much 0% chance.
also, in no scenario will Inter be buying Lukaku, so most we will get is a 2 year loan, if those are still allowed. And if they are not I'm sure they will just somehow manage to get to 2 years by loaning him out 2 years in a row.

Lukaku shouldn't be welcome at Inter after the fanfare he produced before leaving and the cost of Hakimi.

If he's also going to cost us one of Skriniar, Bastoni or Barella to return with a higher salary, what are we even considering here? Doors should be closed. Find someone else who's mentally stable...

Even if we disregard the fanfare as brehme says and look only at the sporting aspect - what can he provide, there are still significant doubts:
- He is coming off of an average season, a player that is highly dependant on the confidence he has in himself and feels others putting in him. Bench him two times for Lautaro-Dybala and his level drops.
- He highly depends on the fitness levels and we no longer have Pintus to keep him in check.
- He would not necessarily be the focal point as he was for Conte.

I would be very surprised if he were to just "resume" his form from two seasons ago.

Lukaku didn’t forget how to play after a year. He is definitely low on confidence but his pace and physicality is much needed in this Inter team. This point can’t be emphasized enough.

We still have to sell one of our top four to meet the goal of 60 million profit for Zhang, regardless of whether Lukanone comes or not.

It’s hard for me to imagine inter committing more than 6mil to have Lukaku here for the season.

He should just move on. The fans here will massacre him once he starts to slump.

I honestly think he can resume it, my confidence isn't based on him per se, I just think this league is totally inept in terms of containing him, even if he comes overweight.

EPL used to be totally inept of containing Lukaku too, what's changed?
FWIW, Lukaku has scored just as many goals in EPL as Icardi in SA.

In england he was never dominant, he just had better and worse seasons. Only when he came here could you see the dominance i m talking about.

And again it was more because italian cb are the way they are, and tbh whole league in general. Leao brought milan the title thanks to his physicality, in england they would probably make memes out of him. Sounds familiar...

This idea of playing a trident of Dybala, Lukaku, Lautaro is fool’s gold.
I think rotating between the 3 of them for 2 roles is amazing, but this 3-4-1-2 being proposed here would be worse than what we saw with Conte.

It could work if both of our strikers presses and work hard, but having both lazy asses Lukaku and Dybala this wont work. If we had two Brozos or one badmothafaka DM with Brozo it could work.
