Everyone knows at the end of the day Suning is ultimately responsible for defining the financial and operational parameters of the club.No Inter players is ”safe” as long Suning owns Inter. If the offer is high enough, we will sell as we need money.
I see this narrative weird that it’s only Marrotta who want to sell all our best players? Maybe people are blind or just full of hate and can’t see or don’t understand what is happening?
It was Marotta who was buiding great team with likes of Conte, Lukaku, Eriksen, Hakimi, Barella, Sanchez… but then Covid came and fucked Suning. I see Marotta the one who is doing damage control as we are bleeding money and Suning don’t have any interest or money to invest?
There are rummours that Zhang is looking to sell Inter and I really hope that is the case and we get new owners with some money!
However, that doesn't absolve Marotta for how he's performed within those parameters, difficult though they may be. He absolutely deserves criticism for many areas of his management, primarily for his rank incompetence in selling anyone who isn't already a high value player.
Even then, he sells these top assets (or tries to) far too generously. Hakimi for €60m was a joke. Two years ago, Skriniar would've been gone the second Tottenham offered 40m + 5m bonuses but thank fuck they cheaped out at 35m.
People have relaxed a little bit but Skriniar still might be sold if PSG finally offers more than 60m. Gotta watch out for Chelsea too. After losing all their defenders and their main target in Kounde, they'll be desperate for a top class CB.
And how is everyone forgetting that Bastoni was practically a done deal to Spurs just a few weeks ago? For a mere 55m?? The only reason Bastoni is still at Inter is because the player himself refused to move. Marotta on the other hand, accepted Spurs' bullshit offer, and almost certainly coalesced with Tinti to pressure Bastoni into accepting the move. "He must be professional and adjust..."?? Remember that?
Get to the root of this bullshit and consider why he is so keen on selling these stars - because he fails to generate ANY revenue from smaller departures. Sure, it's hard to sell deadwood, but every other team out there is doing it far more successfully than us. Look at the vast number of players who have left the club in the past few years, including loans, and compare that with how much revenue we've generated from these players. It's shockingly low. The conversion rate of departure : income is abysmal.
As I addressed in my previous Marotta post, these problems are all tied with his management style with relation to renewals and purchases. Why is he always letting important players run down to the final year of their contract? Why is he only ever purchasing proven mediocrity within Serie A instead of exploring the huge talent pools in France for example?
If he renewed and purchased better, we might save money and sell better. This would go a long way towards helping us avoid our yearly going-out-of-business sale. A lot of this is on Marotta. That's why he gets a lot of criticism from some people.
