Atletico Madrid Striker Diego Forlan Refuses To Rule Out Move To Inter

Forlan's future is uncertain

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan has hinted that he may still decide to leave the Vicente Calderon before the close of the summer transfer window.

Speaking after the Rojiblancos' 2-0 win against Italian and European champions Inter in the UEFA Super Cup on Friday evening, the Uruguayan striker revealed that he has yet to receive any offers but admitted that should the Nerazzurri come calling for his services, he would find it hard to turn them down.

"I know that there are many rumours about me and the transfer market," Forlan told Sky Italia. "I know that the media said that even Inter are interested, but so far I have not received any offers.

"Inter are a great club, so if they should make an offer, I'll analyse it and we'll see what happens."

The two-time Pichichi winner had earlier insisted that he wanted to stay with the Europa League winners beyond this summer.

No chance for getting Aguero because he has no intention of leaving, whereas Forlan is interested in joining us. We bought Lucio at 31 and he plays like a gladiator. Forlan still has at least three years left in his legs. Hi experience will really help us score goals.

lucio is defender, forlan is striker.. and we got lucio for 5 mils, not for 25... you see the difference?

I think Forlan is valued at around 15mil. We can afford him without a doubt after our treble last season and from the sale of Balotelli. I really can't believe we will start the new season without any new additions to our squad. Mourinho would have bought a couple of players that's for sure.

I've read that Forlan's estimated price is 15M-20M€...sounds fair to me.

By the looks of this year's mercato, we'll probably bid 5M + Muntari tho...

Moratti already said that we must sell players to bring in others, and I guess he's right. Our squad is big and we need to sell to see new faces.

Let's just be honest. We were completely out of form tonight, just like Benitez said. We can't start defending our crowns with embarrassment. Weeks five and six we will play against Roma and Juventus respectively, so we need to find our form in the first three matches.

Like I said, we have a really big squad. Players who were on loan last season have returned and we need to sell at least two of them to get a new one. Biabiany is a good player but he doesn't have control on the ball when he speeds up. It would be impossible to get Kun in four days. We can't get anything in this period. This summer is gone. Branca must plan the players we want to try and get them in the winter transfer window.

I really wish I am wrong, but guys start prep to experience what Pool fans experienced for 5 years! Though I hate Pool with a passion, still it hurt me to see a great European club brought down to its knees by this guy!! I never believed in Benitez, still don't believe in him; but I can only pray he proves me wrong in the very very near future!

inter changed so much with Benitez, Motivation, team defence (just look at the players when we give the ball away), wrong passes, lacking front press, the way our defence give so many balls, with Mou, that kind of positions was impossible e.t.c.

What changed the game was lefting Pandev out of first 11, with Eto'o inform, with 4 players, we could find the goal early. yet im sure we would concede a goal because of the reasons i mentioned above, poor team defence e.t.c.

Our weakest link was midfield trio, we need a world class signing there, hopefully, Schweinsteger.

We also need a vice Milito, a striker who can be useful, who accepts bench role.

Completely outplayed couldn't believe it, when Sneijder gets shutdown in midfield we have zero creativity, when Milito gets shutdown upfront we have zero goal threat. Why the fuck did Rafa persist with this shit for so long? It was pretty obvious by the 50th minute if nothing changed we would never score, was he hoping we got lucky with an error or setpiece or something? And what the fuck was Sneijder doing as a CF?!! Milito has been poor for 2 games now he is not un-benchable he should of been subbed with Eto'o being the CF and bringing on either Goran/Biabiany. Deki/Cuchu/Zanetti midfield is just overkill Deki needs to GTFO give his minutes to either Mariga or hell Sulley would do a better job even.

I saw Moratti at the game hopefully this will sway his mind to actually do something in this mercato before it's too late.
