Played like shit today. It's fair to expect much much more from him.

I also feel he loses duels way too often, in particular aerial ones. It seems like he doesn't even try.

Sadly, I have to agree, with the exception of the 2nd half against Lazio, where he was absolutely phenomenal, his play has been very underwhelming for me.
It seems like his head is somewhere else. If he doesn't pick it up and if it would mean that we are getting a player like Rodriguez because of that, I wouldn't be opposed to selling him to China for a nice sum of money.

The reason he started him is to convince the Chinese owners that Banega is finished.

Hold your horses guys, how can someone say he seems to be finished?! :chan: He reminds me of Sneijder considering his build and skillset.

Let`s not forget the players just got back from their warm countries. Éver enjoyed nice temperatures over the Holidays and returned relaxed just like the most of the squad. It was a very tricky game, like Pioli said, because players are still in vacation as a mental state. I also had this feeling during the 1st half, they played nothing.

Then when you know you`re playing against Udinese and it`s freezing ousidee, you might not be THAT motivated you know, and only willing to do the minimal effort to obtain the result. So eventually, I`m glad that we got our 3 points. Banega is the type of player can unlock difficult games, where opposition is harder to break. I think our team was confident that they can beat Udinese, hence the attitude.

Banega has been mediocre so far but somehow people here are too busy in Candreva thread and ignore this thread :eek:blivious:

He's FIF's favorite though, so I guess double standard is OK...

i think he can't play good with Kondogbia - Brozovic .

if only Brozo - Gagliardini or maybe Gagliardini - Joao Mario , i am sure he will good ,

and replace Palacio with Icardi .

He already got once that treatment iirc now even he playing bad we still can rely to Joao Mario, so people tend to give him a pass since he drop to be a 2nd option on his role. While with Candreva, the cons ignoring fact we got no one on that position.

I don't watch Banega week in week out with his amazing crosses.

Funny that you mention double standard. I'll end it with Nagatomo.

Nagatomo.

We should have sold him when we had the chance.

I'm fine with keeping him. We already have the money, now it's nice to have a players like Banega who can come in from bench and make a difference. He's inconsistent but on his day he can win a game on his own.

Besides we have so much quality in midfield, so Banega is the least of our problem right now.

So apparently, Cannavarro's team has offered 25 million to sign Banega and the Chinese transfermarkt closes at the end of February.

I don't mind losing him for that figure. I thinking selling him for such a figure would give us a bigger signing power in the summer.

First, he won't be willing to go to China, that's a given. Second, 25M is a joke for Chinese clubs. 35M yes, I'd be willing to let him go for an insane amount, but 25M is pretty low. Nevermind we got him on a free, his market value should be way higher in today's market, especially for a Chinese club.

For a done player like Banega 25 m is great and is far more than he is worth judging by his lack of focus, his impact and poor effort.

Wait, why is Banega done? Because he's been in poor form for a month or so?
