Its gonna be interesting to see where Pizarro ends up now...

I hope we take him back out of spite just to weaken Roma

According to Tuttomercato, Chivu will be officialy presented as Barca player in the next 48 hours.

I realy hope that this is true. Inter need to spend the money/work on the midfield.

I hope so too, Chivu is just a surplus, save the money and go after Mexes in 2011, he will be around 30 and that is when a defender starts peaking (hal was right, I never noticed it, but around 30 is when they peak.) At that time, Materazzi and Cordoba would probably be gone and we will really need defenders.

However, it would be sad to see a star leave Serie A.

It depends on what type of defender the player is. If he relies on speed and just speed his best years don't start at 30 but if he relies on positioning then his best years starts at 30. I am not convinced on Mexes. Maybe I still believe too much in fantasy but I would like to see Burdisso-Andreoli as our starting centrebacks in 2011.

2007/08 Defenders rumour topic

With the start of a new season, we will also have a new thread for all the 4. So here we go.

By the way, we will have separate serious rumour threads for players like Chivu, Suazo, Tevez and co. And please don’t open a separate rumour thread for stupid or baseless rumours like “Shevchenko to Inter” or “Lampard to Inter”. For those kind of stupid rumours and other general rumours, we would be having a separate thread – “General Rumours” thread.

Guyz,if chibu goez to barca n we hav our pizarro back,so it wont be bad to hav JZ,VIEIRA,CUCHU,PIZARRO,DEKI in that area of our midfield, possibly another Tenacious midfielder wud do but pizarro will also add the creativity we r lukin for so badly,so this move wud not be that bad;) ;)

Even the ones of you who don't want chivu must admit that would be a serous blow to lose another signing inter has worked so much on... After suazo has been snatched away, this may prove a great blow for us, and a base for some ridicilous thansfer "bombs" from our side, buying "superstar" players we don't really need... I'm starting to get affraid about the outcome of this mercato (which havent officialy even started yet and we already lost two of mancini's prime targets (if the reports are true))

Chivu gives us nothing new. Just another guy to compete for the LB position. We can get better CB's.

Look, I've argued about his un-usefulness and over-ratedness over and over again. But I think we have decent LB's and having Chibu is a luxury, even if he's that good a player for you and the rest of the world.

I was wondering why someone doesn't really rate grosso?
I think he is good. dont really like seeing him leaving.
he really looks scary when he attacks. just that not that tough.
So i really dont think we should get chivu also..
I am really fine with what we have now.. only thing is that hopes andreolli gets better chance. but might require samuel to leave to see this.

Gazzetta has also reported that the deal has been done. We pay Roma 12 mill Euros for Chivu, and Roma pay us 6mill Euro for half ownership of Pizzaro. This is a very good deal for us. We just pay 6mill, sell our half ownership of Pizzaro, and get Chivu.
I do have my doubts about Chivu, as I do think he was a fair bit of weaknesses. But I wish him all the best.

We Got Chivu !

Chivu all set for Inter
Wednesday 20 June, 2007
Roma defender Cristian Chivu is expected to join Inter after the clubs reportedly found an agreement over David Pizarro’s co-ownership.

After losing David Suazo to Milan, the Nerazzurri also seemed in danger of missing out on the Giallorossi stopper after negotiations for the Chilean had stalled.

Pizarro, who moved to the Stadio Olimpico last summer, made no secret of the fact that he wanted to stay in Rome and the remaining part of his contract was meant to be used in part-exchange for Chivu.

The clubs had initially failed to find an agreement and there was the threat of a blind auction – where both sides would put an offer into a sealed envelope with the highest bidder getting their man.

However, a meeting between Inter transfer market consultant Lele Oriali and Roma sporting director Daniele Pradè, as well as a phone call between Massimo Moratti and Rosella Sensi, has seen a compromise reached.

The Giallorossi have agreed to pay £4.2m for the former Udinese playmaker who will now remain at the disposal of boss Luciano Spalletti.

As for Chivu, he will join Inter for £8.4m in return for a five-year contract and half of that fee will be reinvested by the capital giants to secure the services of Bayer Leverkusen star Juan.

The Romanian’s arrival at the San Siro should please Coach Roberto Mancini, who was left furious with the club for missing out on Suazo.

“I am appalled and speechless,” said the tactician to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I don’t know what to say.

“What happened? There is a market consultant called Marco Branca and a President called Massimo Moratti. You should ask them, no one has informed
me.”

  MANCIO HAS BECUM REAL FURIOUS CUZ OF DAT SUAZO SCUM
