I dont mind Forlan, but only on a deal like Stef mentioned. It will be super-ironic if we sell Mario because of the UEFA financial rules and then will look for another super expensive striker in 3 years when almost all our forward players will be on the wrong side of 30.

We are not selling Balotelli because of the UEFA rules, we are selling him because he is a hopeless case.

I dont get the Milito logic either, Forlan plays far deeper than Milito and has playmaking abilities, they dont cover the same positions at all.

Not to mention that if Mascherano comes there will basically be an impenetrable wall in defense, allowing these four fellows and their respective substitutes to blitzkrieg the whole match.

Probably won't happen though, and even if it did, the imbalance created by not having a deep lying playmaker like Motta on the pitch could make that formation useless.

Stop being hypocrites. You complain about Forlan's age when our best signing last season was also a striker and at the same age (Milito).

You buy players based on their form. Forlan is at his prime, therefore an instant success which is what a team defending its Champions League title should plan for. And fuck Balotelli. You want a young player? sell this moron and promote another youngster from primavera. There are plenty of them with more sanity in their heads. We need to move forward and improve the squad; no time for babysitting.

Besides we already got a new incoming young prospect in Coutinho. So our attacking players' age wouldn't be affected by replacing Balotelli with Forlan. If anything we would actually drastically improve the team's quality in every aspect. Replace a lazy ass who doesn't do jackshit but troubles with a quality starting material striker, and we got a new young attacking player to make up for the age factor.

But whether we're actually after Forlan or not is another story. We'll see how it goes this summer.

And its not about 'making the club financial secure', its about breaking even, thats what they have been saying all along, they want sales to equal buys in terms of value.
