Hernanes workrate is awful. He never runs to help the defense. And he rarely moves off the ball. Thus, he is lazy.

And also, yes, he is a bit fat. Even Petkovic said he is little overweight, while defending him. His shot is great, but he also wastes LOTS of balls. He takes 3-4 shots from retarded range per game.

What i like about him is that he can hold the ball well, almost never loses a dribble in dangerous position, as you said, outsmart opposition player. He is also superb free kick taker. And he can use both of his feet equally well. He'd be definite improvement for our team, the thing is, IS IT WORTH IT? Can't we get younger and better player for 17 mils and wage of 2.5-3 mils? Palacio was also 29 when we got him, but he came for 10 mils and wage of 2.1 mil, almost half of what Hernanes is worth.

If Thohir is willing to spend and Mazzarri really wants him, fine. If he comes he will improve our team and I will support him. He can give us 2-3 years of good football.

But we will be all swearing at him/the management when he reaches 33/34 and will still be part of Inter on that huge contract with zero resale value

I watched Naingolan today for Roma...what a player...
I personally think our midfield isn't that bad. Assuming Guarin gets sold, I'd go after a DMF to play in front of the defence, someone like Fernando of Porto. I think Cambiasso would be better off playing to the left or right of this DMF and pressure the opposition higher up the pitch. With his tactical sense he's excellent at creating turnovers in midfield...plus he's pretty good at making those late runs into the box. The third mid is obviously Kovacic. He would be the regista and go back and help the defence play out of the back, and initiate attacks.

The real problem in midfield though is the wing backs. Jonathan and Nagatomo are having decent seasons, but the fact is neither would be starters for Juve, Roma, or Napoli. They're good against mid to lower table teams, but they can't really take the game to the opposition when we're playing top teams. They're definitely good squad players, but if we're gonna challenge for third then we need an upgrade.

Agreed, I don't think his value was ever as high as €15m. We bought him for €12.5m. He hasn't improved significantly (if at all), he's older, and it's not like we've played any worse without him. So there's no reason his value would go up by €2.5m.

1. Van Persie, money well spent and he proved it by helping us win the title. He doesn't rely on pace so 30 is not an issue. We will at least 4 good years from him.
2. Pogba was not given for free. At max you can offer 3 years deal for youngsters and when he was on last year contract ManUtd tried everything to make him sign a deal, but he didn't as he didn't think he was getting chances.
3. Agreed. 27 Million was ridiculous price for Fellaini but he is talented midfielder. He was a very good DM for Everton before moving to advanced midfield position because of lack of strikers at Everton. 27 Million is way too much but he is a good player.
4. Mata and Kagawa are not at all same players at all. Kagawa is comfortable playing as AM and is very average playing as LW whereas Mata has proved his worth playing as RW, LW and as AM. He can play LW position efficiently.
