He has a $20m clause.

Also, he's been out injured and has had knee surgery which is why Real Madrid has gone cold on him lately.

As a prospect he's amongst the best.

Excellent ball control, top notch passing with the potential to be highly celebrated even after retirement (think Laudrup, Guti, Pirlo, Xavi etc). Not very powerful, can shoot but not extremely lethal. He needs to add muscle if he comes to Europe. Not great defensively, but he prefers to play quite deep, so that could be an issue if we put him in the middle in a 4-2-3-1 system where the '10' doesn't track back and the other MC isn't helping him defensively.

He would flourish at the right environment. We have a shaky one, so it's not a guaranteed success. I'd love to have him over though.

A lot of the people on the other online sites like Reddit rate Palacios highly. One person says that he has a high work rate, great understanding of the game, technique, and leaves it all out on the pitch. The River fans said that they would be upset for losing him at that release clause.

Atletico also were interested in him.
