I would argue that you're limiting Chiesa's potential by keeping him as an attacking forward. Great teams will continue to adjust and pocket him in to areas where he has no space to run and dribble, thus exposing his rather poor passing range. Candreva has often has quite a bit of space thanks to barella and brozovic, except he doesnt do anything with it.

So Chiesa is so talented that he would be wasted as a forward but would meet his potential as a defender?

That's not what I said, I think he has the ability to be a well rounded threat.

Our wingbacks are not reliable on offense or defense.

I actually think Chiesa's natural skill set would turn him into a beast Wingback under coaching from Conte, but it's an expensive solution and also I think he's a prick.. so I don't know if that would be my first choice.

Of course he could also be used in a front 2 in a pinch, which would add depth to the squad.

the problem is that finding good fullbacks is also a challenge.

Tbh finding a good left back has always been a challenge for Inter. Nothing new.

Funny how so many hated it back in January 2019 when I was advocating the 4-3-1-2 and now it's the go to formation of everyone :D

I've been advocating it since forever and I had the feeling this forum was atleast on the same page according to formation.

Inter, young full-back Vagiannidis signs four-year deal with the Nerazzurri

While the squad gear up for the league restart on the pitch, Inter are planning ahead for the future. The Nerazzurri have secured the signature of 18-year-old right back Giorgios Vagiannidis.

The Greek has signed a four-year deal with the Italian club and will earn €300,000 per season before taxes, while his soon-to-be former club Panathinaikos will get a sum between 300,000 and 400,000 euros as training compensation. Inter's plan is to bring Vagiannidis in at the end of the season and include him in the squad for next pre-season retreat, should it be organised.

LOl. You couldn't wait a few months at least to make such a comment. I think he will probably succeed at Inter if Ausiliu's fingers are kept away from him.

What has Ausilio anything to do with this kid performing at Inter?

Do you honestly think 18-year-old kid from Greece will stay at Inter first team?

Between him and Moses I'd certainly gradually give the kid minutes until he is ready to start.

Okay, you are out of your mind. Have you seen even a minute of this Vagiannidis kid play? Moses at least managed to play a bit in EPL successfully, this kid has nothing to show for.

To me he's 100% lock on going to loan or pawn in a deal.

I’m not saying kid is ready or something, never seen him play, don’t know is he any good but cannot completely agree with caffe here.

Before Radja transfer almost neither of us seen Zaniolo and loan was logical move but after only 6 months at Roma we all regretted.

Point is that we should give those kids a chance to practice with first team and in some games with lower pressure.

Thomas munier? A no brainer tbh
That`s exactly what Dortmund thought several months ago when they have signed him :D

I am starting to get worried that Inter are not yet linked to any quality wingback. Yo, wake up mercato dudes. First sign 2 top wingbacks, then lets talk about young Italian talents.
What do you mean we`re not linked to quality wingback? There are plenty of rumos in the press, depends who do YOU rate as quality? Really curious who would you sign.

We all know what Conte wants: Chiesa for the right side and Emerson Palmieri for the left.

RWB: Recent rumors saying that we are also tempting Héctor Bellerín, as he would like to challenge for titles.
LWB: with Alex Telles and Nicolás Tagliafico set to join other clubs, Júnior Firpo is increasingly a possibility. So I took my time and scouted him a bit.

+: U21 Euro champion @ Spanish NT
+: versatile: like many other wing-backs, before taking up the position, he started his playing career as a winger
+: family man: married and has a daughter named Jannet
+: character: invested his first salary as a footballer into his driving license
+: sportsman: athletic build, played basketball and baseball
+: offensive: knows how to dribble, beat his man

-: soft/elegant: does not seem to be aggressive enough [grinta lacking?], not convinced about his mental attributes
-: might not be the best at defending
-: heading
-: finishing

Barcelona want to sell him because they have Marc Cucurella, who has been raised by La Masia, still owned by Barcelona. Spanish 21 y.o. very solid player that many say is better than Júnior Firpo, at least at defending. I honestly liked what I saw, but for sure Barca won`t give up on him.

Emerson agent has said he has had no contact with either Inter or Conte so i am not sure he's a target. Then again there aren't many rumours about wingbacks so we don't really know who really are our targets.

I like Firpo as a player. He’s got that flair that we have lacked out wide since Cancelo. As a wingback I think he could be very good. He lost confidence at Barcelona playing as a wingback. He’s certainly not the first good player who’s lost confidence there in the last few years.
