Pretty much. In Germany they only report gross wages. For example, here's a report from Bild where they claim Perisic earns 11m/season at Inter.

They simply quote those sources without cross-checking if the figures are referring to gross or net wages. Lazy journalism.

Gross, net, pesos or otherwise I don't think Alaba warrants those kind of wages. I've never rated Alaba (as a CB), or fucking Boateng for that matter.

Come to think of it, Bayern have had a track record of overrated, if not outright crap centre backs in the past decade. Hummels, Van Buyten, Demichelis, Badstuber, Javi Martinez, Breno, Dante, Sule has a bad injury record, Pavard inconsistent as CB.. The best CB they had was Benatia, but he didn't work out either.

If Conte is going to stick with 3-5-2 (and let's face it, he will) we badly need to get a left wingback in January. There's a big hole on the left with both Young and Perisic being poor this season. It's a much bigger necessity than another midfielder or a Lukaku backup.

I will simply repeat this. We're reading about Paredes, De Paul, Papu Gomez and vice Lukaku. These players would be welcomed and they would improve the squad but they aren't necessities when we're going to have one game per week from February. If we are to make only one signing in January then this should be a decent left wingback where we have no one good enough to start.

I had been saying to hold off on LWB until a top option becomes available, but I'm starting to come around on this given how Young has been playing... I still think another reliable forward option will go a long way though.

I get your point but right now we don't even have someone who's good enough to be a squad player on the left. If we're going to stick with Conte and back 3 formations, then we're going to need 2 players for the left wing in the summer. So even signing a Biraghi type of player in January would be useful.

Gosens has constantly talked about his desire to play in Bundesliga. I wouldn't waste our resources to a player who fancies playing in a different country altogether.

Even if I would love to have Gosens at Inter.

Two facts:

1. LWB should be top priority this January - Young ain't cutting it and Perisic should never play there.
2. We don't have money

I guess this means we should look out for a cheap or loan signing. Like we did with Young last January. Another stop gap solution till we can afford to spend big money and get a "Hakimi" of the left.

So who could be available for pennies or a loan this winter? From expiring contracts and out of favour LBs, our realistic options probably are:
- Rose
- Bernat
- Alonso
- Ghoulam
- Bertrand
- Schlupp
- van Aanholt

If its a 6 month loan, I guess any one of these could be useful. My preference would be Alonso or Bertrand as long as they come cheap, which is unlikely in case of Bertrand / van Aanholt / Schlupp.

That's the only reasonable transfer for us. Cheap and Effective.

Chel$ki won`t deal with Inter on reasonable terms because of Conte suing them, so forget about those players.

Marcos Alonso is said to be on track to become Atletico Madrid‘s first signing of the January transfer market as reported by The Independent and Diario AS, which makes sense if you consider he`s spanish.

Darmian should be good enough on the left guys, we don`t seem to be in the position to splash now. I would rather let him prove his worth and save for the summer to buy a proper starter like Gosens or Tagliafico [in case club decides to keep Conte!]
