Not CM. He plays either LW or something like SS/AM. Ranieri plays something like 4-4-1-1. He is LM or the man behind the striker. But he is not a mezzala.
I saw the kid in a few games and he is talented. Still very raw. He needs at least 2 years before he can make an impact at a big club. At this moment he is what Barella or Chiesa were in their first year at Cagliari/Fiorentina.
He needs to stay at least w years at Samp. He should be an idiot to go to a big club

he's definitely more of an attacking player, but mezzalas have to be to some extent. A mezzala is a "half winger." You occupy a more internal area of the pitch and I think he's capable of it.

The point is he's very young and could learn to play different positions. De Paul was a winger/ SS too before he played mezzala full time.

Ruslan Malinovsky is my choice. good passer, tenacious, and a fighter in midfield. strong and accurate shot from both feet while also being a good set piece taker.

Imho I think we need a starting LCM not a backup, because I am still not convinced with eriksen, his performance is always on and off. We need a consistent midfielder like both barella and brozovic. Besides the output from our midfield generally has been poor or average so far, we need a new good midfielder to add to that.

I know this idea is not popular around here but I would find a replacement for brozo and sell him this summer while he still has some value. he is good and all but his clumsy ass arm throwing weak mentality at the heart of the team costs us at times. we are one SMS away from ruling europe. well we also need another keeper and a left wing back but you know what I mean. I'd keep Eriksen, Barela and vidal and build a midfield around them then sell the rest of the losers.

Ruling Europe? We couldn't even qualify to knockout stage. Before worrying about ruling Europe, I'd rather focus on not getting our asses handed to us in CL next season.

we are not what we were 6 month ago, we sucked balls at the start of this season even in serie A but safe to say now we're ruling it? we already saw sparks of what this team is capable of in europe say first half of the game vs barca or vs Dortmund . I just want us to get rid of any trail of pussy mentality left from banter era the last of which being Brozo! and it's not like we want to replace messi, it's frickin Brozo. there are many players of better quality out there and I'm sure Don Beppe is up to the task to get us the best replacement possible.

That makes no sense, why would we invest all those millions on a player for position he's not suited in the hope that he will adapt to the role in 3/4 seasons, especially given our record in nurturing young talents?

De Paul was a winger/ SS too before he played mezzala full time.

I think he was originally an attacking mid at Racing then converted to a SS (at valencia) and then converted to a CMF so he's definitely more of a midfielder.
