Insigne could work as a false 9, he has the skills, the vision and the long shots imo.
Then again the fact that Zapata, Vlahovic, Correa, Insigne all have different play style is so weird to me, what are we even looking for?

People need to just calm down. I don't see what's wrong with the approach that we keep our options open regarding the new forward signing after Dzeko. It's not like we need some specific player type, we don't have to replace Lukaku one on one player type wise.

After loosing Hakimi and Lukaku, I would say this team lacks pace. Ideally brining in someone with pace would be important if your rotating between 3-4 forwards.

I would say people who are afraid of him not working as a ss are thinking fifa logic, like his stats will massively drop if you move him from the original position. He isn't a robben type of winger.
Why do we even need a player playing out of the position, when we still have Sanchez and Lautaro on the payroll? Waste of resources and talent.
Not to mention Insigne is 31yo. Too late to learn a completely different skillset. Winger isn't SS. Period.

And one thing we need to remember. Agents play a part in the mercato show. When clubs are looking for market for players, they talk to agents. And agents propose their clients.

Let's say Mino Raiola. We want Dumfries who's agent is Raiola. Raiola happens to also have Kean and Insigne, and now we've been linked to both. The another, hot name of the hour is Alessandro Lucci, who is Edin Dzeko's agent. Other names from him: Correa, Muriel, Scamacca, Florenzi, Zappacosta, Vecino (I omitted Juve players). All of them have been linked to Inter recently (well Muriel few months ago during the season).

This is how this circus works. Agents play big part in this player traffic thing.

Insigne is not perisic.
Perisic is a pure winger , Insigne is a creative forward who starts from the left to facilitate his curved shot.
He can be as dangerous if he starts from the center in a 3421 formation ( not the same as 2nd striker though).

As false 9 , mancini tried it two times during the euros , both failed and mancio immediately removed him from there

Raiola isn't Insigne agent anymore. His new agent is the same with D'Ambrosio.

What? Italy scored their goal against England after Insigne was made the false nine. It changed the game, for the best.

Well that's not even relevant here.

Point is names from same agent goes around in these rumors.

As for Insigne, I just don't see a fit at Inter. But maybe I am wrong and he could work well as SS, I don't know. Probably he would be relatively cheap given it's his last contract year and he's 30.

They probably see Insigne as a market opportunity. It's rumoured ADL is asking for 20m. When Atalanta want 40m for Zapata and Lotito 35m for Correa, spending 20m on Insigne in the hope Inzaghi can make it work tactically probably makes more sense to Marotta.

Yeah.

Di Marzio is reporting there aren't even negotiations for the renewal at the moment between Insigne and Napoli.

I don't know, I'm not impressed by Insigne. I feel he's a fucking chokejob who let's you donw almost everytime he's depended on (like the last season's last match).

Don't have one.
I just remembered mertens used us like this when his renewal was stalling, and then quickly after that he got what he wanted, so we have to take that kind of thing into consideration as well...

Insigne’s contract is up next summer. I’m not a fan of contract extensions for 30+ players. He’s infinitely better than the likes of Correa but he’s a bit of a bottler imo. Paying him €6-7m into his mid 30s sounds like a typical Inter thing to do however.

It's a possibility. Especially since Insigne is a Napolitano and he has spent there all his career.

Di Marzio just reported there are no renewal talks between Napoli and Insigne at all.

For 20m I would take Insigne, but we still need another top striker (Vlahovic)
