There are conflicting reports whether that meeting was about Insigne or D'Ambrosio. Even those who report meeting was about Insigne claim Inter were put off by Insigne high demands considering there are doubts if he could fit in Inzaghi's 3-5-2.
For me the whole Insigne saga makes little sense. Insigne is a winger and we don't really know if he can play successfully as a secondary striker. But let's assume for the sake of the argument he can. How are we going to play in attack? Insigne wouldn't be coming to sit on the bench. Fielding a Lautaro-Insigne attacking duo? Inzaghi doesn't seem to trust Lautaro as a main forward.
As things stand, we have 3 players to fight for 1 position while we have no one to rest Dzeko. Our priority should be a forward either to bench Dzeko or to give him some rest. Only a Lautaro sale could change our priorities.
