This doens't make sense for Onana, Lyon: are the same level as Ajax, won't offer him any major increase in wages, and still have Lopes (30-31 yrs).

Leaked: Inter interested in 23-years old turkish goalkeeper of Fenerbahce Altay Bayindir

It seems that this enquiry was sent in February (when we were not officially broke) and was only spoilered now in the media.

Turkish media outlet Sabah Spor, the Fenerbahce President has absolutely no intention of letting his goalkeeper leave the club without receiving what he describes as an ‘astronomical’ fee. The market value of Altay Bayindir is currently €14 million but it would appear it will take much more than that for the Turkish side to part ways with the 23-year-old.

The player joined Fenerbahce in 2019 after making 28 appearances for Ankaragücü. He has since played 65 times for Fenerbahce and is being heavily linked with a move to a bigger European league.

Inter are not the only team interested. Multiple La Liga and English Premier League teams are also linked with the goalkeeper so Fenerbahce will likely want to start a bidding war.

Agree, he's over confident, but he can overcome that with time. Besides that he's great at everything else. Absolute bargain for 5-10M. Bayindir on the otherhand will go for at least 15-20M with EPL clubs rumored to be interested and as of now he's all potential.

It seems that Onana promised himself to Inter on a free transfer in 2022 (which may be against the rules TBH, perhaps this is why no major outlet has been confirming this).

Ajax know he will be able to walk away for free and they try to monetize ASAP, to limit their loss.

There are mixed reports on the future of Andre Onana, as while Ajax try to sell him to Olympique Lyonnais, it’s suggested the goalkeeper wants Inter as a free agent.

The shot-stopper is out suspended until November after failing a doping test and his contract with Ajax expires in June 2022.

Multiple French sources point to an imminent agreement between Lyon and Ajax for a fee worth circa €6m.

However, Tuttomercatoweb and FCInter1908.it both insist Onana pledged his future to Inter as a free agent some months ago, becoming the heir to Samir Handanovic.

Now it remains to be seen if Ajax will convince the shot-stopper to take the Lyon transfer or if he’ll hold out for the Inter switch next summer.

Arsenal had also been in the running for the 25-year-old Cameroon international goalkeeper. Onana joined Barcelona’s youth academy in 2010 from the Samuel Eto’o Academy and was sold to Ajax for just €150,000 in January 2015.

Yeah the deal with Lyon seems to take time so questions will be asked why. Onana can't play anyway before November so he's not losing much if he doesn't move immediately.

I'm definitely taking Onana for free. Our resources are always limited so getting the goalie for free is simply great. Because it's not like market is full of goalies who has CL experience.
